Okay so for some reason since yesterday evening when I click the "My Subscribed Threads", I always get redirected to the "Dakka is down and up for maintenance" site. Is this just me?

yes. only happening on chrome. my firefox seems to be working fine.
how can i solve this problem? what needs to be done in chrome? delete cookies? I have a large number of tabs open that I dont want to lose

No idea sorry.
I don't think deleting cookies would make you lose your tabs but you could just temporarily bookmark them all and try it.

IT WORKS NOW 
I cleared browsing data (but downloaded session buddy first to backup my tabs) and then closed chrome and reopened it and my tabs were all there but I needed to relogin to dakka which I did and then it worked.
Maybe a simple logout and login would have worked as well.
