Hey everyone. I have been searching the interwebs for awhile, looking for a good tutorial on how to paint urban camo, or something similar, on miniature tanks. I don't have an airbrush and would prefer to use paint cans it possible. If not, I'll get an airbrush. Does anyone have a link to a good tutorial on urban camo that can be applied to Leman Russ'?

While I’m sure there are a few out there, I’ve been following Zambro’s blog. Around page 10 he switches from his White Scars to an urban digital camo themed guard. Not a tutorial, but a spot to read about someone’s journey doing something similar.

You'll need Masking Tape or putty or something for this, if you want to work on tanks. whether you want to use cans or airbrush, you need some way to cover areas.

Generally good advice. Unless you choose to go with a pattern like the steel legion which is easily do-able without masking.

Here's a cool tutorial I found that looks like it could be helpful:

Even if you didn't follow this exactly, it does give an idea of how to produce urban camp in this style.

If you did get an airbrush, you could have some fun with a more blended look, especially on vehicles. I like the style in the above tutorial though, and it doesn't require an airbrush.

You're welcome, and that's a cool idea that I hadn't thought of. Plus, it gives an excuse to play with silly putty!
