Hi, recently I've made a few lists ( mostly armoured ) but I've yet to make an infantry list. The reason I am theory crafting ( if you looked at my previous threads ) is mainly to get a feel of non-allied IG/AM armies and to get general opinions from the community. It may seem spammy but I'd like to see the different builds available and then choose one to buy out completely and paint.

This list will primarily be footslogging to the max at 1500 points. The goal of this army is to make sure that the infantry are generally capable of fighting any force it comes up against at mid-range to short. It will be a bloody fight but this is the most "imperial guard" fluff force I can think off.

The list would primarily focus on the 2 main infantry squad and HWS firebases. Stacked with priests, psykers and dedicated CCS, it can put out 10 TL lascannon shots per turn, which should be able to almost guarantee a vehicle kill/FMC with the use of "Bring it down". If the enemy gets close, then the priests should be able to to war-hym the squads to fight capably. Although a single close combat attack will definitely pull the whole squad in mostly rendering them useless, it can be somewhat beneficial since nothing can shoot at it and combat has to be resolved. The 2 stormtrooper squads are there for back table arty lobbing anything that can't be shot at by the Lascannons/ Autocannons. I am not sure how well the orders will play out but under this list, all orders can be given ( CCS orders anyway ) with the PCS giving pinning/ ignore cover to themselves to slow down any efforts to reach the main line. Stormtroopers can also be used as relief squads if they need to tie the enemy in for a turn so that the blob can rain lasgun fire on whoever gets close. Autocannon HWS will target transports as best they can, hopefully with decent results. Standing at 100+ men strong, this list will win by attrition hopefully and would also be a blast to play with against orks. So what do you think?
