Hey gents (and ladies),
In my tiny little town I (Orks) only have one opponent (GK). We've played a 750 pt game so far but we both have much larger armies. What I want to do is put together a campaign, where the points fluctuate (trending up over all) and we have different objectives than just the standard ones, maybe using NOVA or BAO, whatever. What I want though is a way to give bonuses for MVP units that survive and other bonuses for whoever wins or losses the previous game. Is there a resource for this? I want it to be narrative too. Maybe special terrain. I was going to incorporate at least one rolling battlefield scenario with fast attack. Any ideas?

If you are going for a campaign with a narrative, here is some of the tips I have:

Before you even play a game, sit down and come up with a story. Figure out why the armies are there, figure out who the big players are and what their who story and background is. This pre-work sets things up for you to build a flowing story, because that is the point of a narrative campaign.

That said, make your story flexible. If something crazy happens in a game, let it have an effect. If you ever go to miniwargaming, they recently finished a wonderful Necrons-Tyranids narrative campaign where things like this happened. It was not just Necrons fighting Nids, but also had an organic development of an internal Necron power struggle. This is a product of letting your story develop alongside your games, if you have something very strictly set, you don't get that.

Also, in the terms of narrative games, do not get hung up on perfect balance, or tournament-level objective systems. Narrative campaigns are for storytelling, and not every story is perfectly balanced and tournament-optimized. Come up with objectives that fit your storyline, don't shoehorn in tournament rules for what is meant to be a story.

Finally, as the campaign plays out, have the characters change as well. If they win, they should get (small) bonuses, and if they lose, something should happen as well. Just be careful not to make these so strong that once a player wins a few games, they are so much better off than the opponent that they can win again and again, easier and easier.

@curran. Thanks. All great advice. Here's what I came up with so far. Just a rough sketch. Would like to do some BRs along with it.
Campaign: Lemuria VII "Cleansing"

750pt Skirmishers clash
-A retinue of Grey Knights arrive on the outskirts of an Ork Encampment. The Lemurian Waaagh! gained momentum more rapidly than the imperial beaurautocrats thought possible. It has already overrun two of the three hive cities, slaughtering or enslaving the human inhabitants and looting its riches. The Grey Knights send a standard force to probe the Ork's forces. Orbital cleansing is un-available partially because of the remaining loyalist humans, but mainly because of the sacred manufactorums of the hive cities. 

500pt Retreating Remnants
-The loser of the previous battle is in full retreat as the winner gives chase. In a rolling battlefield scenario the previous loser weaves his way through the defensive line to make it back to more tactically secure position. 

1000pts Battle beneath the gates:
-Custom Terrain. An imperial gate or Ork Baracade. If the retreating army was GK they rally in front of the hive city's outter gates. If the retreating army was Orks, they rally in front of the Ork encirclement prior in the midst of the siege in progress. 

1500pts McCloud Hive
- city fight

2000pts Battle of Castle Crags. 
-double FOC + allies. Lots of impassible terrain. Rivers. Mysterious forests.

I will say that it feels pretty stiff. It doesn't seem to matter who wins or loses, as the missions remain the same. It needs to be more organic, and have room for changing conditions.

It's a nice framework, you've got the pieces in place, but not quite a full story yet. Why are the Grey Knights, a daemon-hunting force going after Orks? Obviously this is because this is what one player has, but what is the fluffy explanation for it, as this is normally very far out of their normal operating duties.

Likewise, what is the Ork Warboss' goal? Why is he here and why is he doing what he is doing?

Does your friend have another army, or is GK his only one?

I would recommend checking out the 5th edition rulebook (the one with the skull and hammer on the cover).

In the back, past the fluff sections, it has several chapters on variant rulesets:
campaigns, including tree campaigns, where the win or loss in one battle determines what the next battle will be. For example, you fight a 'meeting engagement', the next game is then 'breakthrough' where the winner is the attacker. If the defender wins the second, then the game switches to a "counterattack". If the attacker wins the second, its a "'rearguard' game, etc. You get the idea.
There are also node campaigns (map-based), rolling campaigns, etc.
A section on troops getting experience and skills if they survive the battle. This might require some changes to update them to 6th edition however.
A chapter on Kill Teams. Not the current iteration, but where you select a small team of specialists to go against the enemy "henchmen" and "big bosses" in infiltration type games. They're very good for breaking up the big games and adding some specific narrative, ie. attacking a bunker line, and if the attacker wins, in the next big battle he gets extra points for his army, or the defender loses points toward fortifications, etc.

It should be easy to find or someone probably has the old edition lying around. They can often be a trove of inspiration.

I'd also recommend grabbing city-fight or cities of death, both supplements for prior editions, but they have substantial campaign elements (even if they are urban combat focused).

@Curran- Not surprised you said stiff. Kinda felt that way too. Thanks for mentioning the GK fluff. What about a GK encountering a campaigning Warboss in the warp?

@Happy-neither of us like to proxy nor field unpainted minis. He's pushing into 1500-2k of GKs. I have a little more time on my hands, so for me it's 5-6k Orks, 1500 Old Tau (no tides or cool sides), 2k Necrons, 1500 Eldar, 4-500 CSM (DV starter), 2k Salamanders. Obviously he could borrow from me.

@Cruentus- thanks that sounds a lot like what I was looking for.

OK, so here is a thought.

Ork Warboss is leading a Waagh! on a planet. The PDF is able to hold back the Orks initially, until they decide to bring in the big guns - a looted Chaos Imperator Titan (for fairness and ease, the Titan will not be used). A request for aid is sent to the Imperium. Recognizing the Titan the Grey Knights are dispatched to assist the Waagh! and destroy the Titan.

The Campaign consists of 8 games, two of which will be Apocalypse level games.
