So I am looking into dark eldar and normally I would go with warriors but seeing as tanks and armor are making a come back in 40k I wonder if wyches are worth taking. Thanks to hull points 5 haywire wyches can glance almost any vehicle. A few groups of 5 should also be able to take down a knight before it gets a chance to hurt them. I was thinking, if you have a big beast master pack in the front, would wyches stand a chance to make it into the back field?

So do you think they are worth it? How would you equip them?

My preferred would be Sliscus as HQ

Wyches with haywire, in venoms.

Drop them in/zoom them over, and then pile out and go grenade happy.

You WILL lose them when the knights go up though. They have this nasty tendency to explode, and wyches have no armour.

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

Trading 1/2 small units of wyches for a knight is a fine deal by me.

Duke Sliscus
4 bloodbrides in venom, splintercannon, NS = 135
4x 5 wyches, haywire, venom, splintercannon, NS = 540
7 reavers, 2 blasters = 184
Ravager w/ night shields, FF = 125
Total = 999

All your infantry will have combat drugs, so rolling twice will be nice. Venom spam for anti-infantry and wyches and ravager for anti-tank.

You can also look to swap the ravager or the reavers for razorwing.

Your 5 Wyches are knocking 2.08333 hull points off in CC, plus about a 50% chance of knocking one off throwing a haywire. With enough units it should work, but aren't Dark Eldar known for their lances and manoeuvrability?

Lances aren't great at AV12 given their cost, and with all the cover shenangins going around of which DE have no way to remove it, sometimes CC is the best route.

You will need a full squad on the charge to confidently take out a knight and you will have none left. I have done this several times now and each time barely takes out the beast and that's having already taken a hullpoint from something else shooting at it. Its the only reason I bring Wyches in the current meta.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM!
