Hello everyone,

So far the only thing I did with 40k is painting. So now I want to collect a army to play with which will be Chaos space marines. But one of my most favorite warhammer models is Kairos. So I would really like to use him in my future games. But can I use him in a CSM army ? Or can he only be used in a CD army?

He can only be fielded in a Codex: Daemons army.

Having said that the two books are Battle Brother level Allies so you can take units from both armies in one army easily.

Well, you could use him as a Tzeentch Daemon Prince without getting peoples feathers ruffled. That makes sense, and Tzeentch CSM Princes get those good CSM Tzeentch powers too (and can get a Spell Familiar, very handy indeed).

Then if you ever decide to get some Daemon allies, you have about the best HQ they can get too!

As already stated above, your options are to have your Kairos model represent a generic demon prince from the CSM codex using the rules found there (aka "count as, proxy model"), or to have Kairos plus a deamon troops unit be an allied force. Then you can use Kairos' rules from the demon codex. The deamon soul grinder heavy support choice is cheaper pointswise and better than the CSM defiler, so that may be interesting in this context.
