So, I picked up my Hammer of Cadia box yesterday. I suspected that it might be the case, but it turns out that it definitely only contains the parts to build a Baneblade or Hellhammer varient. Thought it might be worth informing the Dakka folk.

With this in mind.....

....if any current baneblade owners have the sprues/bits to build a Stormsword going spare from their kit, I'd be very interested in perhaps taking them off their hands. PM me.

I was wondering if this was the case, and figured it might be. No bits here, but thanks for the info!

Hmmm, that's odd as the White Dwarf blurb says it builds all Bane Blade variants.

I will double check but 99.9% sure that it said that in the surrounding text, in which case could be worth giving customer services a call.

Edit: Yep checked WD and it says there that it contains sprues to make one of any 8 configs of Bane Blade, as well as 3 Hellhounds which can be Devil Dog etc, and 3 Russes which can be Vanqisher etc.

The webstore however does state Hell hammer only. Glad you posted this now as i was going to get this set because I wanted a Shadow Sword and 3 Hellhounds, but now won't be bothering.

Bit of a trading standards issue there though for me as if I hadn't checked the store online I wouldn't have realised that thanks to WD.

See, I was definitely under the impression that it was 8 variant. That impression musy have come from my white dwarf.... and the gw store manager when he quickly totted up the savings. I'll recheck my wd when I get home.

It was only later on, after looking more closely at the webstore (obviously after ordering) that I began to have my doubts.

-UPDATE-

After emailing GW customer services about this, they got back to me today.

They apologised and said that the description in WD was a mistake and should have detailed the actual box contents. They then asked me what super-heavy variant I was planning to build and offered to send me all the bits needed to build it.

So, once again, good stuff from GW's customer service.

Two thumbs up...
