I just had a thought, are tau aware pyskers exist? Do they just think psyskers have some sort of weapons? Do etherials hide knowledge of them? Discuss.

I don't think so, as it was hinted in the fluff the Tau's evolution was accelerated by either the Laughing God or the Deciever to combat Chaos, or at least buy time. That being said, the Tau are evolving like any other race so it is entirely possible for a Tau psyker to happen, the evolution just hasn't happened yet.

If it's of any interest to you check out the Fan Fiction Warhammer 60k Age of Dusk, it's massive and detailed and pretty much rounds out the end of everything, but the Tau do eventually evolve psykers. In his fiction these Psykers are used by the Etherials to 're-educate' people but are also used to fight the rising Necrons Armies.

That is cool, but I was asking about tau beliefs about the psykers of other races

It's certain that they have some awareness of psykers. At this point, they've surely noticed that there are certain dudes in robes that can break the laws of physics with their minds. For the scientifically proficient Tau this was probably huge for them. The Damocles gulf crusade, their incursions with the Orks and 3rd Sphere of Expansion has given them ample exposure to the space wizards.

Tau have a long standing treaty with the Nicassar which are a highly psychic race that communicate by telepathy (I think I've read somewhere) so they are fully aware what psykers are and in some respects how they gain their power.

I think Tau would find it difficult to understand why psykers use their powers for destructive means.

I think ALEXisAWESOME misunderstood what you meant.

Tau don't understand what the warp is.
But Etherals = 'psykers' ....

So yes the majority of Tau knows just what they are meant to know.

Tau are stated to keep the nicassar hidden from the Imperium because they know how much the Imperium hates psykers (non-sanctioned, obviously). So there's that. They also studied the warp in the Medusa campaign but their findings weren't particularly conclusive and they ended up deciding it wasn't worth the resources to study further.
