Hey guys, I am posting about my really small Tau army that I will be using to demonstrate to a friend. This is in no way to be competitive but I want the newbie I am playing against to see some cool things that Tau can put forward, and things he could see in competitive lists. So with further or due here it is

----------------------HQ-------------------------------
Generic Commander Battlesuit~85 points
-2xGun drones with twin linked pulse carbines~24 points
-Onager Guantlet~5 points
-XV8-02 Crisis Iridium Battlesuit~25 points
-1x Missile Pod~15 points
-1x Plasma Rifle~15 points
-Drone Controller~8 points
-Shield Generator~25 points
Total~202 points
-------------------Troops-----------------------
6x FireWarriors
Photon Grenades-0pts
Pulse rifles-0pts
Shas'ui/pulse rifle/target lock and markerlight

6x FireWarriors with same build as above
Total~176 points
----------------------------------------------
Total-378 points

Like I said this is not competitive and there is no point in winning or losing, it is meant to show the player what Tau armies could consist of in actual games. Cheers
Just wondering it looks good to show someone. Tau'va

I would try and get a few more markerlights in as that is a very unique mechanic to the Tau.

Ok. Yeah. I'm going to probably switch the gun drones into markerlight drones and give the fire warriors some markerlight drones as well. Thanks.

I'd up it to 500pts and grab more fire warriors and some stealth suits and pathfinders.

DA army: 3500pts,
admech army: 600pts
ravenguard: 565 pts

True. I will probably add some XV25stealth suits and deepstrike them. Then get a pathfinders team. I don't have the funds for a riptide at the moment. Thanks. Cheers

For my stealth suits i always try to infiltrait with them because i'd rather get 12" or 18" in line of sight and get that extra 6 to 12 inch boost and if you equipt that upgraded leader with a homing beacon your crisis suits can deep strike within 6" with no scatter dice.

A tactic i used last night agaisnt IG was steath suits deployed into cover so they get there 4+ cover, then deep strike with my commander crisis suits with twin linked fusion blasters to use agaisnt the Russ'. ...... I hate the Russ'

Wow, close to the list I am using for my first game. I agree with others that you need some pathfinders. If this is the army you plan to play against your friend, consider dropping the Iridium suit. That will make it really hard to wound the commander. You want a Newbie to feel good and get some nice shots in. Maybe drop all the signature systems overall. I always use more generic equipment and basic units when I try and teach a newbie. Just some suggestions from my other wargameing past.
Thanks,
Duncan
