So I'm trying to make a friendly Necron 1k List using the contents of the Battleforce. So the compulsory items are 20x warriors, 5x deathmarks/immortals, 1x ghost ark and the scarabs I don't really mind if they're included or not.

I'm thinking of adding a Barge and using the Overlord out of it as a HQ to put with the warriors or immortals. Then I just need some filler to complete the list.

Since it is a friendly list I would prefer not to spam units (even the 2nd Barge I am questioning) because I want some variety to make it interesting. What would you guys add?

I have come up with this list so far:

HQ
Overlord - RO (120)

Troops
10x Warriors + Ghost Ark (245)
10x Warriors (130)
10x Immortals (170)

Elites
5x Deathmarks (95)

Fast Attack
4x Scarabs (60)

Heavy Support
Annihilation Barge (90)
Annihilation Barge (90)

= 1000

To make your list, you'll need to buy a couple of AB (these are good, and you can always use 1 as a CCB for the Lord - the kit is designed to swap between the two), plus two immortal boxes.

From the battleforce you can actually make both the deathmarks and the immortals (by using warrior legs and chests for the deathmarks as the guns hide most of that). Course, you will lose 5 warriors if you do that.

So, I suggest you buy one box of immortals and one box of warriors instead.

Now you can make 20 warriors, 10 immortals (using the legs and chests for immortals), 5 deathmarks (using 5 sets of warrior legs and chests from the warrior box) plus 5 crypteks (using the deathmark heads on warrior bodies and legs, plus cut up leftover bits from the immortals/deathmark sprues). You don't need to get too fancy, just have them sort of hunched over with weird looking guns/staffs/whatever. Paint them differently and you are good to go.

You'll also get a couple of extra warriors (there are 12 in the warrior box) plus 3 scarab bases (which are always handy!).

One of your crypteks should be a veiltek for the deathmarks - cos that is an awesome combo. The others can be stormtek or destruktek.

Doing that, you should be able to get to 1250 at a pinch.

10x Immortals (170)
Harbinger of the Storm - Lightning Field (35)

Elites
5x Deathmarks (95)
Harbinger of Despair - Veil (60)

Fast Attack
5x Scarabs (75)

Heavy Support
Annihilation Barge (90)

I think you're gonna find the Harbinger of Transmog to be underwhelming on the board.

But give him a try and see if he works for you. Unless you paint Harbinger of Transmogrification on his chest, you can always use him as a differnt type of Cryptek.

I find basic overlords lack utility generally. Standard kit for me is warscythe, sempiternal weave and mindshackle scarabs. This build can hold their own against most things with a little bit of dice luck.

+1 to the comment above re transmog. I find that for the points HoD are better value, because they are S8, characters (so you can precision shot) and longer range.

Stormteks are generally useful. Lightning is nasty when it works, but at 1000 points you could probably use the points to upgrade the overlord or add a couple of scarab bases.

This unit is great fun (perhaps not for the opponents) Remember that if you go second (which you generally should) you can deploy them on the table and mark a unit then. This will give you a T1 attack rather than waiting for them to come in from reserve.

Scarabs are the best form of AV. You just have to keep them in cover because flamers will do serious damage to them. They are also useful for tying up infantry squads and can occasionally win! At some point, try taking Zandhrek, then give the scarabs furious charge when you attack an infantry unit. That extra point of strength is nasty.

ABs are always good. I generally play 2 at all points levels, and use the third HS slot for spyders to complement my scarabs.
