Hello all,

I will be putting together a box of crisis suits next week sometime. All of the poses that I have seen for them stock are very static. Does anyone know of any good ways to repose them for a more dynamic look?

They are fairly easy to pose, if I remember correctly from my 5th edition Tau army. Both the legs and arms are on ball and socket joints, which allows maximum control of the poses you're giving them.

Most of the major joints are ball and socket joints so the pose is almost entirely up to you

Great, I guess I just don't like most of the poses I've seen in pictures. I thought maybe they were hard to repose or something.

Thanks!

Not entirely. The knee and elbow joints are locked in place (unlike the Forgeworld suits). You'll need to do a bit of cutting to a get a good variety of poses as otherwise they'll get very samey very quickly.

@OP, here's a Farsight army I did a few years back, you'll see where I've cut the limbs to get a good variety of poses.

While the knees and elbows are locked, they are still really easy to repose. I would recommend pinning the joints afterward, however, rather than relying just on glue.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Only difficulty in reposing is the leg is fixated to be straight. You can move it around because the hip joint is a ball and socket, but the knee is solid. This can be "somewhat" avoided by the foot being ball and socket as well, but ive found most of my poses were either very very close to the stock one, or looked funky thanks to the no-bender-knees making the foot have an odd angle to it lol. Elbows are fixed too but thats really easy to clip off and re-position with a touch of greenstuff.

Which is why my Commanders are actually the forgeworld guys, they have knee joints. Most of my crisis suits are second hand so i have to rebuild them anyway, going to experiment cutting off that lower leg and rebuild it. When i get there that is, right now im painting firewarriors.

True, a lot of people set them up pretty static.

I was able to change an arm by cutting it at the elbow.
