I've put this scheme on some old scrappy space marine models, just to do something with them.
Kinda fancy picking up DV box set but not to keen on the dark green found on the normal dark angels.
You think if I paint them the same as the images below (just more care and attention of course what with them being nice new models), they could be palmed off well as a dark Angels successor? AND tie in with all the other DA models being done in bog standard "codex' schemes? (Its literally just tactical dark angels I don't like, death/raven wing are cool and I like dark green on all the robed/hooded guys etc)

If I can make the existing guys work as DA it'd get some use from them and I will get away from that dark green I'm not keen on.

Your scheme is too busy for my tastes. I'd try and limit it to 2 colors instead of the 4 you've got going on. The shoulder pads being different colors especially throws me for a loop. Dark Angels colors are bone, red, green, and sometimes black, so I'd incorporate two of those in a new, more symmetrical scheme. The actual painting quality on this figure is pretty good - the colors are blocked out neatly and the use of washes is good - but it's the color choices themselves that are the issue. I'm also not a fan of that pea soup color for the armor.

The black/red shoulders was done more to match my space wolves than anything else lol

Thanks for that by the way I'm very critical of my work.
This was actually intended to be a quick, "not so neat" paint scheme, I'm normally a very slow painter when it comes to my Space Wolves, but I managed to thrash out a whole squad of those green guys and a captain plus an old rhino in about 2 hours which is stupid fast for me

The black red and bone is great but I dislike the choice in green, id go darker try a strong rich green wash and then dry brush in a richer green again to add another layer of depth, also id consider matching the other knee and shoulder or having a verity of combos of your colour set through out the squads, up to you.

You can paint them however you wish. I believe there are several DA successor chapters that have their color schemes listed as 'unknown'. This gives you scope to paint them as you wish but still remain loyal to the fluff. However I'm not an expert on 40k lore, maybe someone more knowledgeable than I can confirm.

My deathwing army lead by azrael is colored red and gold, azrael has found it weird that the terminators loot the enemies dead bodies after each game, especially since one of them has a mysterious blue powerfist.

He has heard rumors of different chapter dreadnoughts and armor being used in battle, sometimes against their previous owner...

I like consecrators but they pretty much HAVE to be done in that weird armour (Mk4?) To look right.
Dunno why I don't like the dark green of regular DAs, the guys with robes and hood etc look great but a plain tactical marine just.... Doesn't look right to me

The typical green Marine probably doesn't look good to you because of a lack of contrast, which the robes provide. And the armor you're usually seeing Consecrators in is Mk. 6 armor with the beakie helmet. It's kind of a boring scheme though, if you ask me.

Mk.6, thanks.
Consecrators color is pretty dull BUT I think combined with that armour and the bit of fluff I've gleaned from a few sources, it all comes together well for me.
Same could be said of Raven wing, pretty boring on a single model, but a squad of bikes etc looks pretty bad ass.

Actually they're known as the "Unforgiven".

Correct the chapters are known as that, but their colour scheme is listed as "Unknown" not "Unforgiven".

It really looks like an Alt scheme for Lamenters.

I'm not seeing much hinting at a connection to Dark Angels

I know the Dark Angels and all their successor chapters are collectively known as the 'Unforgiven'. Nevertheless, several of the successor chapters are of an unknown colour scheme.

Ah they was never painted with DAs in mind. They only got painted at all to get them out of the draw they was sitting in. They are to beat up when you look close to make it into my main army so just put on a random colour scheme at the time.

As it happens I just painted a dark angel, was an old snap fit marine I had.
Doesn't look so bad in the flesh to be fair
