I love the new minis, but at $5 a model, with a ton of bits I don't use, it's a bit out of my price range. I already have enough Kasrkin (And some Armored up Cadians that I used as Stormtroopers. Made 'em backpack linked with their lasguns.) to fill all the roles I need. Do I have to go out and buy new models or can I use my old models? The only reason I am asking this is because of the difference of the style and name.

There should be no reason to have to get new minis, esp when the old ones have the same weapons. Think of it as being a different faction like they have for IG (Steel Legion, Vostroyan etc), or peoples custom armies that are modded to look unique.

I see literally no one having an issue with this. Only reason I bought into Scions myself was because I was not about to convert that many metal flamers to meltas. Money is not worth that kind of pain.

Honestly, I think the Kasrkin look better anyway.

I have zero problems with proxying. Also, as long as you let me know the wargear loadout before the game I don't even need the models to be WYSIWYG.

I would have no problems with this - they're WYSIWYG, badass models.

Anyone you play against who has an issue with this should......... Im gonna be nice and leave it there.

Kasrkin are badass and your opponent should be chuffed to get to play against such awesome models. You are doing them a favor.

Okay I have another question. I don't have enough sergeants to go around. Are the Tempestors locked to their crappy ccw/HS laspistol loadout that GW has a hardon for, or can I make them useful and give them a rifle like the rest of the squad?

Hot shot(or bolt or plasma) Pistol, and CCW(or power weapon/fist) only

I would go out on a limb here and say that the Scions "ARE" the Kasrkin?

I have one of those super old card stock Dreds. We have one player in our meta who is EXTREMELY picky about WYSIWYG and LOS and all that jazz. He's basically TFG + an elitist painter/hobbyist in one. I'm not ashamed to admit that I use my card stock Dred to antagonize him sometimes. It's an official GW model. He gets so upset because it's really hard to draw LOS to a flat piece of card stock. I'll also say things like "Hey buddy, I know you're assaulting me, but could you please not put your models ON TOP OF my models? I spent alot of time on this army and I'm proud of the way it looks." My ultimate goal is to get him to stroke out and claim victory for myself and the community as a whole.
