Hi all.

In an attempt to get back into the swing of things I wanted to paint up an army using a theme totally different to what I've used previously and so I need some help.

Not yet picked an army but I've purchased a load of random models on ebay to see which I prefer painting the most, and I would like to aim for a desert theme, so yellows browns oranges etc.
Problem is I'm not that au fait with the newest citadel paints and so wondered what colours people would suggest? I was thinking brown base with yellow (as dark as I can make it) and orange trim/highlights but then I see people talking about washes and then I get confused all over again.

Any help suggesting colors, processes themes etc would be greatly appreciated as painting is currently my least fave part of the hobby

Hi warren, I'd suggest looking for some painting tutorials on youtube, especially for Imperial Fists. They should give you a good idea of how to paint what you're looking for.

Ok. Yellow is a fething nightmare to paint well. For a desert theme you might consider tans instead. My Elysians are desert themed & I use krylon almond for them. However, if you insist on yellow don't start darker & go lighter. You're better off going from white & getting darker. That's speaking from experience having done two imperial fists armies over the years.

Awesome cheers, I once had an idea for desert themed eldar and used the old snakebite leather and something else but the tans sound good, do you know the names?
