So, in the GW book it says that in the rare case a model will not be supplied with a base. So I have 3 Attack Bikes w/out bases... a rare case indeed.

Anyways I just wanted to see what other people were doing to get a base on their bike.

Also I have a single bike that needs a base. Do I ebay one or does anyone have any good ideas for making my own? Materials, etc.

My Attack Bikes are done, I ended up using some spare skimmer bases, like the ones that go under a speeder, but I want to see what else people come up with, so discuss away!

I play them with out a base. As for your other Bike, do you have a Fantasy Cavalry base laying around?

I saw someone make some Bike bases by cutting a standard 40k base in two and adding one piece to either end of the Cavalry Base.

GW website has bike bases, it's like $5 for five bases.

I'm building a 2k Ravenwing army right now, and for my attack bikes I'm using 60mm closed bases, again $5 on GW's site for 3.

That is a good idea, and I do just happen to have a small base kicking around. I could just cut it in two and make it the right length.

The Attack Bikes not having a base bothers me because, well, how do you get into base contact? It's like you're treating the unit like a vehicle, even when you move it. The base on most models actually provides a tiny bit of extra range. Mind you the skimmer bases I used on mine are actually a bit small, like a terminator on a 20mm base...

Contact them and state it was missing bases, i have had multiple occasions where they sent me replacements. Funniest one was when i painted 10 wraithblades for a friend, which require medium bases, and all 10 came with small bases lol. I got 10 medium bases in the mail 3-4 days later.

However one thing you could do is take another bike base you have, whether its on a model already or not, and trace it on plasticard. I have multiple bases that are custom cut out of plasticard because i didnt feel like buying spares...mostly for my skimmer vehicles though.

My SM Bikes are so old that they didn't come with bases... then I had some from years later that came with cavalry bases... Finally, I've started putting them on Bike bases as I've been going back and tidying up their paint to match my newer models. My Attack Bikes for my tournament armies were based on 60mm Dreadnought sized bases, and no-one ever complained, so that's probably a good size to go for. They're a bit weirdly shaped for a standard bike base.

As above. Mine all came with cav bases and I've began to update them to the new bike bases. I also mounted all my attack bikes on 60mm Dreadnought bases. All the bigger bases come in packs of five. I had piles extra after I got done moving all my Steel Legion heavy weapons over to the new 60mm bases.

Or you buy plasticard sheets and cut them to shape. Depending on what you use for basing, this offers some nice options, as you can make irregular shaped bases or somesuch. May not be the best option for strict tournaments though, if you don't keep to the GW shape.

My attack bikes are magnetised at the side car, so they dont have to be attack bikes.

Theyre not based yet, but I plant to make the bike on a regular base, that slots into a larger one.
60mm dread bases always felt a tiny amount small for attack bikes, I think they would do so much better to have a 65mm or maybe 70mm base.
