Having sold off a collection of a couple other games, lack of players in the area, but I figured I'd join the ranks of the local Warmachine players.
I've been playing Cyriss for a bit now, but I'm never content to play just one army.

I'd rather not bombard the forums with list after list, but curious if anyone is willing to help me out with designing some effective but hopefully balanced (between each other) lists I'd appreciate it.
Call me crazy, but I'd rather have a couple different factions with set lists to pick from than a bunch of models for a single faction.

Plus it gives me some options to play with my boys as well, not to mention look nice painted up on the shelves.

As to any specifics, the only specifics I can offer for each at this point is the following.

-I like tiered lists, so when possible, tier it up.
-I've selected Warcasters I like, however some are likely to be less effective than others, but they're the ones I like.
-I've also selected some Warjacks I prefer over the others

---Warcaster/Warjacks likes/wants---

Khador:
Zerkova
Demolisher/Devastator/Spriggan

Cygnar:
Kara Sloan

Cryx:
Witch Coven or Mortenebra

Retribution:
Ravyn or Issyria

However, with my attempt for Menoth, perhaps I'm doing ok?

Protectorate of Menoth: 35pt Tier 4
-Thyra, Flame of Sorrow
-Blood of Martyrs Heavy Warjack
-Reckoner Heavy Warjack
-Sanctifier Heavy Warjack
-Choir of Menoth (squad of 4)
-2x Daughters of the Flame
-Nicia, Tear of Vengeance

Thanks

Caster.
Jack(s)
Unit(s)
Solo(s)

When your only caveat is fun/balanced, then really, there is very like help we can give since most things fit that category.

So please... Be a bit more specific..

I updated the original post. If I'm still way off base and unable to provide any real help, I'll just continue on and throw stuff together.

I only play Cryx at this point (and not particulary well ) so I can only help a little!

Don't get the Witch Coven.... they are probably the weakest Caster in the army and rather dull.

I have yet to get Montenebra but have looked into her, from what I understand she can run a fairly good amount of 'jacks, most of her spell list affects them rather than units so I'd probably run a Slayer, a Seether and probably a 3rd heavy of your choice or maybe a Stalker or two. I don't think she has much use for an Arc Node seen as she has her little sidekick with her to do some extra spell antics anyway.

Solo wise I'd take a Warwitch if you go with the Stalker option for a little Focus efficency and probably a pistol wraith or two.

Unit wise I'm even less use as I don't have that many (not even Banes yet ) but as she supports 'jacks better than units you might find you don't really want/need them.

Anyways, hope that helps a little but for a LOT more help check out http://battlecollege.wikispaces.com/space/menu

Have fun!

Thanks!

It seems with Mortenebra at Tier 4 you can't have any units, so perhaps something like this then?

Master Necrotech Mortenebra @ 35pt
-2x Stalkers
-1x Leviathan
-1x Seether
-2x Slayer
-1x Necrotech and 1 Scrap Thrall
-2x Warwitch Siren

While their are some good points in here, a bit misguided.

Since you're new to Cryx Emperor, perhaps you should avoid giving such sweeping advice as writing off a caster? Both Coven and Morty can run high jack count armies (both in tier, Coven's machine minds is odd but very mean), as such you can have some overlap.

For Tier 4 Morty, stalkers are great, but heavies are where she makes her home. Leave the leviathan, it's a bit of a focus hog. Harrower, however, can do some serious work. The gun is decent with ghost shot and the thresher reach weapon is unbelievably good at setting off overrun. You also get discount slayers in tier, and no body laughs at a lot of 5 point slayers bearing down on them.

Seether is widely maligned, but I love mine, so you may as well. She is really going to love the new jack, the Inflictor, whenever it is released. She has little support for anything outside her battle group, but her feat can help infantry absolutely slaughter some high def units.

I would agree that the PP cryx forums have solid advice, as do each faction forums. You can always search for tier army lists folks are using on that site.

No wargames these days, more DM/Painting.

I paint things occasionally. Some things you may even like!

Thanks! I might have to look into Coven a little bit more, but I like the Harrower more than the Leviathan.

Me and everyone I know who plays regularly has at least two armies.

Also, I don't think the Coven is a weak caster. No eGaspy, but not weak by any means.

I would advise you to check theme forces for each faction if that is something you are interested in. The Cygnar and Retribution books have quite a few spammy/weak theme forces and those factions tend to get their bests tier lists from NQ.

No worries, but at this point I think I'm sold on Mortenebra.

No Quarter Magazine is Privateer Press' magazine.

It's like White Dwarf, but good.

If you guys are curious what I'm considering at this point here is it.

Cygnar: Feels potentially weak with lack of Heavy Warjack. Perhaps I need to drop a Minuteman and Hunter for something Heavier?
-Captain Kara Sloan
-1x Hunter Light Warjack
-2x Minuteman Light Warjack
-2x Long Gunner Infantry (10)
-1x Rangers (6)

Khador:
-Kommander Sorscah
-1x Beast-09
-1x Devastator
-1x Widowmakers
-1x Winter Guard Infantry (10)
-3x Winter Guard Rocketeers
-1x Winter Guard Officer and Standard
-1x Winter Guard Field Gun
-1x Winter Guard Mortar Crew
-1x Kovnik Jozef Grigorovich

Cryx:
-Master Necrotech Mortenebra
-2x Stalkers Light Warjack
-1x Harrower Heavy Warjack
-1x Seether Heavy Warjack
-2x Slayer Heavy Warjack
-2x Warwitch Siren

Protectorate of Menoth:
-Thyra, Flame of Sorrow
-1x Blood of Martyrs Heavy Warjack
-1x Reckoner Heavy Warjack
-1x Sanctifier Heavy Warjack
-1x Choir of Menoth (squad of 4)
-2x Daughters of the Flame
-1x Nicia, Tear of Vengeance

Convergence of Cyriss:
-Forge Master Syntherion
-1x Corollary Light Vector
-1x Diffuser Light Vector
-1x Galvanizer Light Vector
-1x Mitigator Light Vector
-1x Assimilator Heavy Vector
-2x Cipher Heavy Vector
-1x Optifex Directive
-1x Algorithmic Dispersion Optifex
-1x Attunement Servitors

Retribution of Scyrah:
At a loss, but changed my mind on casters, Issyria, Rahn, or Kaelyssa would be perfectly fine...

Well I played with the Coven vs pCaine @ Killing Field.

Couple of highlights:

Popped off Infernal Machine on a Seether, that was nice and it tied up a couple of lights very quickly.

Took 3 bonejacks mainly for the Arcnode plus a skarlock so I didnt need to move the Coven much.

Used Mcthalls and Necrosurgeon to screen the Coven.

Channelled Stygian Abyss a couple of times on to Caine taking the win.

Overall not a bad game, but they still didn't really do it for me.

i will add that if i was going to play cryx, i would start here
eGaspy
deathripper X2
Tartarus
Pistol Wraith
Siren
full bane knights
min bane knights
min bane thralls
bane thrall UA

thats where i would start cryx from.

with cygnar, its haley storm wall
Khador, butcher 3 with conquest is pretty amazing. there is a guy playing that locally, and its scary as all hell
Menoth - i think maybe E Fieora would be a better plant, but don't forget about TOM or HR. the high reclaimer is amazing, and PKreoss pop and drop is a thing still.

the lists you have posted look like fun too, id say your off to a great start, which ever direction you want to move in. Montenebera will be an interesting caster i think when the new hordes book comes out.
