Would you let me play if I brought this home-made bad boy?

Hmm, don't know why the pictures are showing up upside down, clicking on them shows them right-side-up...ideas?

P.S. Yes I know the lettering sucks, I tried a stencil, it failed.

Do you use magnets to keep it on the ceiling like that?

Haha, yes. I have no idea why it's showing upside down. You can click on them and they show correctly, and the original images are right-side-up ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I do use a washer with two magnets on the stand, then one washer glued to the chopper. Works great.

Id play ya though would prefer the correct base and wing span.

probably just eyeball it if need be.

The base could be important for embarking, disembarking and coherency (friend and foe).

Tournaments are a different story but thats a whole nother thing.

Probably not. That's not a 40k model, it's a real-world helicopter with no apparent conversion work (or even appropriate painting) to make it look anything like a Valkyrie.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

This isn't so much "homebrewed valkyrie" as it is "Valkyrie stand-in".

I don't really see anything making it stand out as a 40k model, and am unsure if you converted it to attempt such.

Not that you'd have a problem getting people to play you; stand-ins aren't all that big of a deal.

I thnk it would be perfectly fine for casual gaming, as long as you made a better go at getting some 40K-centric decals on it (though some converting would help, too). Proper iconography would go a long way.

I chose the HInd because it is such a close analog to the valkyrie, nose-mounted machine gun, multiple rocket pods on the wings, and I put the shturm on the wing tips as heavy bolter stand-ins. It even has the skimmer/hover analog, and the troop transport capacity.

I could definitely try to get heavy bolters for the sponsons. I've got left over transfers from other tanks, but I suck at the transfers.

Awesome, I love the look of proportionate models. Beats GW ones every time haha.

I would allow it. I know the flying bases suck for transport but just in case I would rather it have one.

Just print out a small imperial symbol in colour and glue it to the model if you wanna 40k it up a bit haha.

So yes from me.

To be honest, I would have preferred if you kept the propellers on. Right now it looks weird.

Probably work

How does it fly with no apparent engines and such small wings? I mean, clearly, it can fly upside down, which is cool, but I feel like it would have problems moving forward.

Transportation convenience is the only reason I didn't add them. The propellors are longer than the whole chopper in every direction, which is awful when I have to take the subway and walk 1 mile each way to my game store.

I'll try to find some engines to stick to the sides on top.

You could pin or magnetize the propellers for easier removal. But I understand your pain. Transporting my Valks on the bus is a PITA.

I would have no problem with letting you use this model. Others are correct though, for game purposes you should use the proper sized base.

Even in a casual game I'd be like, 'naw, that stays in your case.' It's a fugly model, but whatever, there are a million fugly models and bad paint jobs already in this game.. It's the fact that it's not even on a remotely close to accurate base that'd put me off.
