I know all the rules aren't out yet but just for giggles and wanting to get the jump on things i thought up a list to run on some of the 7th ed rumors for my GK's

The idea behind this is just being very mobile. Start with the DK and the incinerator Interceptors on the table, Shunt, flame then get into CC to tie up there units, have the pali's and the HQ come in on the stormraven, hop out and get into CC as well (with some expensive hopefully) i'll try to hold back on my other two interceptors until late in the game to come in and shunt onto objective. Having no real FOC means i can just take all fast attacks. The reason behind taking the fast attacks that count as jump infantry and can deep strike is from my understanding of the 7th ed rules ( from rumors and videos) there will be a lot more focus on objectives. Another thing is with the grey knight ALL of you units are psykers even your vehicles so all those go into your psyker pool for deny the witch or the use of your power weapons. So if you REALLY need to kill something with those wounds in CC just use more dice for you psyker role. I may have some of this wrong but im just brainstorming here. Thoughts and suggestions are much appreciated. I will list all my models in case anyone wants to spitball different list.

Id like to get two more stormravens, but at the moment i only have the one. I just think with the new psyker rules having an army FULL of psykers in defiantly a benefit. However i think the new psyker pool thing will make the Aegis less effective cause they can just add more dice to the pool to overcome the -1. Anyway like i said i know the rules aren't out yet and everything isn't 100% but doesn't hurt to start thinking in the new way and try and get a jump on the competition. I greatly look forward to everyone's responses and advice.

You can drop the psybolt ammunition off the Grand Master if you are taking a Psycannon. Psybolts don't have any effect on anything that isn't a bolt ammunition.

I would try to put psybolts on the Interceptors. Combine them into 10 to pay for psybolts once and then combat squad them when they hit the field.

Just remember that you won't be able to contest objectives using Unbound rules as per the rumors right now. My army will be similar but I plan to keep the FOC. Having Troops that can Deep Strike and also with taking a Grand Master having Interceptors can become troops which means you can contest everything as a FOC with the the benefits of it as well.

Thats true i forgot about the objectives thing, I agree about the units of 10 and then combat squads, i'll do that and drop the raven, take two units of 5 GKSS and that will put me back in line with the FOC and as you mentioned i can then my my interceptors scoring with my Grand Master and after i combat squad them i'll be able to have guys where ever i need them. Just from what im hearing this new set of rules sounds like its going to be very friendly to Multiple Small Sqad army list.

I combat squad everything that I can especially with a teleporting assault army like the GK. Who are you going to shoot at when you have all these small 5 groups bearing down on you. Make your choice and hope its not the wrong one.

Yeah i havent played space marines of any chapter since i started playing a few years ago. I keep forgetting about combat sqauds but it is a really useful tool.

I used to not combat squad and would get squads decimated when they were in 10 man.

What made you try out GK?

Honestly they just look bad ass. And i have always wanted an army that could use inquisitors

i started with Ultramarines, then converted them all to salamanders, then i bought into chaos and built a really nice 1000 sons army i liked
chaos so much i traded my salamanders in for more chaos space marines and deamons and i ran a 1000 sons army and an iron warriors army for awhile
I got a really nice offer and traded all of that for a HUGE (like 13000 points) tau army. Then i was having some financial issues and sold most of the tau
the tau i kept i traded for tyranids. Then my wife got on to me about having too many hobbies. MTG, WH40k, Warma/hordes Pathfinder/D&D so i sold
most of my models and stuff till it was just RPGs and MTG. But i still had the itch to build and paint cause well WH40k is my favorite and at the risk
of sounding a bit cheesy it calms me down alot (i have mild PTSD from Afghanistan, i know i know everyone says they have it but really watching your
buddies shot up and blown apart doesnt leave you without any demons) So my wife said i could get back into the hobby, I started to put together the
necrons you see in my gallery but my heart wasnt in it cause i knew i was building an army to win not for fun. So i came on here and the first person
who wanted Necrons were offering grey knights and away went. Turns out i really like them and there models and i get to use the inquisitions who are
my favorite by fluff and novels and what not. so yeah just pretty much cause i needed the hobby and they look badass.

That is virtually what drove me to choose Grey Knights in the first place. Even if this is just fantasy and science fiction, I always choose things that reflect me and what I do in real life. (I am a Marine Science Technician 3rd Class in the Coast Guard and we function kind of like Inquisitors except instead of Chaos it's marine safety and environmental protection. I am sorry about your PTSD, my job won't face anything like that just toxic exposures and possibly some bad boardings but nothing like that). And I just didn't want an army that was led by the Inquisition but I wanted psykers too so the fact that every single Grey Knight is a psyker is what drew me in then finding out that each one was a jack of trades being able to shoot as well as assault sealed the deal. The army has had a bit of a rough time with the release of some of the 6th edition releases but played right, Grey Knights can still kick some arse. Expect to have that lone Grey Knight who refuses to die win games for you. Seems like that happens a lot.

Cool cool, im infantry in a heavy weapons company here in hawaii. and yeah i like how there armor actualy looks more like armor, there helmets are awesome. i was never a big fan of the original space marine helmets.

Yeah, to me I like the knight appearance of the Grey Knights especially in their Terminator armor. I like Terminators of the normal SM but to me GK takes it an all new level which is why even though it isn't cost effect, I still take them to the table with me. People have said I am throwing points away but I am not a tournament player, I am a fluff player. I hate spam lists, having a lot of one thing is boring to me as well. The only SM helmet I don't like is the Corvus pattern.

Yeah the termie's are my favorite to thats why i tried to build a list around them. I think in more friendly games i will use my termies, landraiders, and ghost knights cause well thats what i like. I'll use my GKSS and Interceptors on games i want to win.

I am glad I'm not the only one. I started getting away from them though, I was loosing too much so now they are usually my 5 man specialist squad or the Ghost Knights of Mordrak.

I thought about just using only termie models and running them as just regular counts as* grey knights but i figured that would be way more expensive and way more confusing when i actually wanna use regular grey knights and termies together.

Ahem, just a thought. It would be cool if Grand Strategy allowed you to grant "Objective Secured".

GK would be the best army - cos you could have an unbound army with contesting Dreadknights (or interceptors).

itercepters would be money
deepstrike into CC then right before the end of the game shunt onto the objectives

Grand Strategy: Unyielding Anvil: Nominated units can claim objectives as if they were Troops.

Maybe I have been reading the Unbound rules wrong but I thought that non-troops can capture objectives but can't contest while Unbound Troops still can contest. The way I am reading Unyielding Anvil it turns the selected groups into Troops so they would be able to contest it.

I think Unyielding Anvil is the same as Kantors Hold The Line ? Kantor makes his SGV scoring, the GKGM makes what he chooses scoring also, but neither are " proper " troops ?

In the end, we have to wait for the codex updates to drop to find out for sure ( if they even adress the two rules ).

Well, it was a bit too good to be too true but I thought I would try. Maybe I was looking forward to the glorious re-birth of competitive GK.
