Idea bus the wild riders with lore of life spellsinger and glade lord. Shoot stuff with glade guard units with personal wizards on high magic and one death im thinking captain sat in counter charge wildwood in my own personal abysall wood (get enemy to fight in it giving them fear and me +1 attack yeh i will take that).

Oh yeh dont want trees!!!

Displacing the wild riders with characters causes them to a lose a lot of their punch. And running your t3 spell weaver into close combat seems like a recipe for disaster. Split the wild riders into two groups of five and get sisters of the thorn to keep your characters in there, add some magic resistance and keep them out of harms way.

Hummm yeh i was worried about the spellweaver but just dont have points for sisters. The lord doest really lose any punch thinking of giving him a potion of foolhardiness as well so he gets devasting charge as well.

Might try the two units of five but its the issue of getting them thete alive in small numbers and I like the war banner for.the extra combat res as they need to win combat. Where do you think i can lose points... Drop the glade guard units a bit?

I'd drop the lord. 254 points for a guy who's about as good as 56 points of glade riders.

Instead, I'd take a unit of Sisters of Thorn, with a banner of discipline. That makes your wizard lord Ld10 general.
I'd then drop 1 or both level 2's, and get more waywatchers.

Ha hadnt thought about simple downing the level of the spellsingers to level 1 and that frees up points plus the spare I still have for a unit of sisters...

I like the glade lord ws 7 s7 (with gaint blade) i 8 and a 4 (5 with potion of foolhardiness) and asf hits hard and can handle most challenges but open to reasons against him just seems a solid fighty character.

Thanka for the help so far guys

You can't get the 1+ save on him, so it isn't worth it.

Humm well im not sure how much of a problem that is glittering scales with high ws going to be hard to hit and is pretty much going first and smashing you in the face

Having run Fencers blades and glittering scales on a Dark Elf combat lord, it isn't worth it. Against RnF, your opponent will roll enough 6s to kill you in a protracted combat. And as Wood Elves, you have no combos like Frenzied Executioners to draw out combats.

S7 is save -4. So an equal cost old blood is saving on a 5+ with a re-roll, then saving on a 4+ ward. Since he also has ASF, you don't get re-rolls.
Each attack averages 0.12 wounds. You're looking at 4-6 rounds of combat to take out that old blood. Flip side is that the old blood takes out the elf lord in the 2nd round of combat (on average).

Fighting wood elf lords are horribly over-costed. You just pay too much for the T3 baseline without the ability to get any mundane gear of value. If you could get a 1+ armor and 4+ ward, and still get a decent weapon, then it might be possible (like what dark elves can do). With the lack of survival gear, and barding, it's pretty tough on the wood elf characters.

How does the old blood get re-roll armour and a 4+ ward? They are both Talismans.
Do Lizzies have some sort of item that gives them the same?

EDIT: Just realised AoD is an item lol.

Well just got to use the army. Well most of it anyway didnt use the glade lord and the lvl 4 used lore of metal (against empire) and.a combination of that and the waywatchers destroyed a tank and the wild riders went through demigryphs like they werent there.

Going to keep the spellsingers the combination of them all completely dominated the magic phase. But will defiantly the sisters with a spellweaver in it.

Thanks for advice guys I will put up the list i used when not on phone with the changes just so you can see cheers for the help!!
