So I have some friends that are getting into infinity and I am about to get dragged in. The group that I game with said that they would perfectly fine with proxies that are properly geared. I am taking that as an excuse to pick up some chronoscape models, nova corps and imef. What I would like to know is if those figures will work gear wise. If I like the game I do plan on supporting them someway later through accessories or terrain.

We actually have a separate spot for Infinity banter, right here!

That being said, since the rules are free, it is an excellent system to use proxies for. As long as you and your opponent are clear on 'what is what', it shouldn't be a problem at all. The Nova Corp guys could easily have Rifles and Combi Rifles, and some of the heavier equipement transfers over moderately well as well.

The question is, which of the Infinity factions are you going to be proxying them as?

I was more looking on what factions best represent those models if possible. Reaper models are pretty cheap and I wanted those particular models anyways. If the faction doesn't fit to my play style it's ok (I have played a lot of different factions in other war games so I think I'll be fine).

When in doubt, play them as Nomads, they're rather ragtag and assorted anyway. Or PanO, since that faction tends to be more like the 'baseline' for things.

Or grab a bunch of modern warfare types and play Ariadna (Hasslefree also has a few that would work well for specialists and characters).

Always like it when something prompts me to look at Reaper miniatures, they have such a mad range of stuff!

Really think of the Nova corps (lighter armed looking guys) would function well as line infantry. The chunky looking IMEF guys would probably work well as Heavy Infantry for whichever faction.

And, possible alternative to the Daktari Cat doctor?
