Water doesn't do it. Is there some mixture of thinner that will? This is over a satin base coat.

If you're just trying to wipe off a particular layer of paint, that would be quite hard, but not impossible. Perhaps use some acetone (or nail polish remover) on a cotton bud and very carefully, very gently wipe off the designated area?

Good luck with it, mate. I'd also be extra careful when dealing with plastic models - acetone eats plastic for breakfast.

If I get stray paint where I don't want it, a clean brush dipped in a little isopropyl alcohol will take it right off as long as there is a layer of varnish under the paint.
I use a brush as opposed to a cotton swab just to control how much pressure I apply so I don't accidentally remove too much.

A short bath in kitchen degreaser (Same stuff you use to strip paint) will get it all off. Like in under 20 minutes. I wouldn't advise it if you'll really miss that paint job in case you screw up, though.

The easiest way to get rid of unwanted washes is to just paint over it.

Lahmian Medium will actually re-wet the shades and allow you to remove them without affecting the underlying paint. I use this technique in weathering sometimes.
