So there is a major tournament coming up in my area for the new ships, and I know I don't have the experience to compete for Top 4...but I certainly don't want the top netlists to win either. Let's say I want to be the guy to counter either the top list or perhaps the top two if possible....what kind of things should I bring? I want to pretty much do poorly against a fun and balanced list, but do specifically well against whatever is 'the hot list to win tournaments with'. Not sure if this is possible, but hopefully it is.

Somebody around here mentioned that the Lambda spam list might be popular, is it powerful enough to be top tier? Should I be bringing bombers to deal with all those Shields/Hull? Thanks in advance!

I've posted it a few times around here already, but I've been placing at a lot of tounaments with a lambda spam list. Went up againt the number 8 at gencon and only lost because of a play mistake. it's brutal to go up against and pretty well beats 2 of the "top" lists with impunity...Tie spam and the dual YT1300.

The idea is that really you are only playing with 3 Lambda, Yorr and the 2 speed freaks. The Vader shuttle is going to off itself fast, but do a TON of damage along the way. yorr lets the 2 speed freaks make a red 2 turn, and then boost. turning almost 180, which is the big flaw of the lambda swarm...turn radius.

Just remember your dealing out the same damage as 4 x wings or b wings, and you have 20 shields and 20 hull. you can take a weeping ton of damage before you lose a ship.

I'm still working out what to do with the last 2 points...if anything.

So the question is, what is a good counter for such silly lists with low fluff backing that I want to stomp in the face for bringing to my fair world of fluffy Star Wars? :-P Are TIE Bombers good, or is it more important to beat them via manueverability with TIE Interceptors? Mind you, I like the Imperials out of principal.

What lists aren't adherent to the Star Wars lore? I can see maybe Soontir Fel and Boba Fett being used together is kinda weird but that's about it.
