The Celts and Germans that Warlord games puts out are good models, cheap, and very, very multi-purpose. There are even cheaper Celts and German warband boxes out there too that are good. I bought a Wargames Factory box oif 30 Germans for 18 bucks IIRC, and while the sculpts aren't as good as the Warlord Games sculpts, they're totally fine...and the box came with friggin 75 weapons (swords, clubs, spears, and bows).
