Had a few questions come up as i've been painting my models and working on an army list.

1. For a DA Bike Squad, when the codex says I can have two bikers pick additional weapons, is this for the 3 man squad or the 6 man combat squad?

2. When deploying combat squads, let's say I broke up a unit of 10 tactical marines, could I still move them together a a 10man blob and simply split them up once I reach an objective or are they limited in how close they can be with one another?

3. I like Sammael's Sableclaw and am most likely going to head that direction with him and use him as more of a support with a bunch of other land speeders for my RW group. Are there any benefits to using Corvax though, besides being more of an offensive type of unit?

4. With 7th ed coming out manana, my play group are barely learning 6th ed and will probably not switch to 7th for at least 6 months or so, but if I wanted to use the Psyker Cards/Phase as well as the new objective cards, would this be something we can simply add to a 6th ed game, also, anyone know if those cards come with rules or are the rules for them in the BRB of 7th ed?

5. Can I buy attack bikes and land speeders separately from GW? Looked on their site and not seeing anything but I would like a few more of the two that came in the RW Battleforce but I don't exactly need all those bikes right now?

6. Librarians on bikes. How does this work exactly? Are there librarian models that come on bikes or am I simply customizing one myself? Also, would the Librarian on a bike be a viable unit for a squad of bikers or would he need to be with something else, the codex for the bike squad doesn't list Librarian as an option?

6a. I noticed in the RW Battleforce that the RW Sergeant comes with a hood and robe, would any problems arise with me calling him a Librarian and throwing him in a squad?

6b. When adding the additional weps to a bike squad or to units as a whole, if I don't own the bits for that particular weapon, am I allowed to use those weps? For example, I have Belial and he comes with a sword and gun, if I wanted to switch to two claws or his shield combo, would I have to go out and buy the bits or can I simply say, "his codex lets me use this so he is using these instead even though it looks like something else?"

7. Banners. Do I need a special unit to hold a banner or can any unit hold one? I ask because I was given a SM Captain from ABR and he seems to be equipped with a banner on his back, if it is a banner can I simply call him a banner bearer and use the banner as whichever I wanted? Same goes with Azrael. Dude has a giant banner on his back, can I equip him with a DA banner or are there specific people for that??

Think this is it for now, I'll bookmark this thread and add questions as I come up with them.

Thanks for the help!

1. It will say in your codex along the lines of "for every 3 models..." or "2 models may take". Follow that guideline.

2. No, you choose to combat squad at the beginning of the game, and you cannot un-combat squad midway through, or vice versa.

3. Corvex is considerably more effective than the Sabreclaw. It is able to join squads, fight in assault and cannot be killed in a single shot like the landspeeder can.

4. You can buy a set of cards separately, afaik.

5. Yes, look under Space Marines instead of Dark Angels.

6. I think there is one still around in the Space Marine list, but it is something that you can customize as well. As for attaching him to a squad, he would be his own entry in HQ, but as an Independent Character, he can join other squads. And as far as viaiblity, they are fine as far as I know, don't play with Dark Angels though.

6a. Ask your opponents, they'll be the ones who can tell you.

6b. Again, ask your opponents.

7. There are specific entries in the codex as to who can take banners.

It just says 2 may take, no restriction on number of models required

Yes, Though you would have to roll difficult terrain separately, and you would want it to be clear which squad is which for wound allocation. For all rules purposes though they would be 2 separate squads.

3. I like Sammael's Sableclaw and am most likely going to head that direction with him and use him as more of a support with a bunch of other land speeders for my RW group. Are there any benefits to using Corvax though, besides being more of an offensive type of unit?

He can assault(and being assaulted isn't pretty much a guaranteed death), he has 1 more wound than the speeder, he is eternal warrior, he can over watch... I'm sure there are more reasons.

Since its a house rule you should discuss this with your group, it can work but you would have to make it a house rule.

5. Can I buy attack bikes and land speeders separately from GW? Looked on their site and not seeing anything but I would like a few more of the two that came in the RW Battleforce but I don't exactly need all those bikes right now?

Yes, they under normal space marines, if your expanding the battle force is a much better deal(unless you truly don't need the bikes at all) $110 for the battle force $140 for the items in it separately

He would have to be made as they don't make a model, same for chaplains, he can work very nice depending on what you take for him

6a. I noticed in the RW Battleforce that the RW Sergeant comes with a hood and robe, would any problems arise with me calling him a Librarian and throwing him in a squad?

as long as its clear what he is, no

6b. When adding the additional weps to a bike squad or to units as a whole, if I don't own the bits for that particular weapon, am I allowed to use those weps? You have to find out if people in your area care, if they are big into wysiwyg then yes you would want to model them with it, if not you just need to make sure its clear who has them.

You need certain units who are allowed to take the banner, for Dark Angels iirc that would be yor 3 types of command squad.

6. The option to turn a Librarian into a Biker-Librarian is part of the librarian entry in the HQ section (access to the Wargear list which contains bikes, jump packs, etc.) rather than in the RW biker entry.

7. Many characters (including some sergeants) have back-banners. These mostly have absolutely no special rules behind them.
Dark Angels (and other SM's) have access to special standards which can only be given to Standard Bearers in Command Squads.

To clarify my first question as my friends don't believe me.

If I am using only a 3 man bike squad, 2 of those 3 guys can take melta/flamer/plasma as a 2nd weapon, not replacing what they have?

An addon to this, If I make the squad a 6 man by buying the 3 additional bikers for the squad, am I still only allowed to have 2 guys add extra guns or would it allow 4 people to do so seeing as I am adding an extra 3 units?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Which leads me to another question.

If having 6 guys doesn't let me add 4 weapons but having two groups of 3 does allow me to add two guns for each group, am I then not allowed to add those 3 bikes together as one squad in deployment since I am not actually paying for them to be in the same squad?

A RWAS can take up to two special weapons (replacing a bolt pistol I believe, from memory), regardless of the size of the unit (3-6 models). The extra models make the unit more resilient to losses (Ld tests after 25% casualties, not losing the specials to the first shots, etc.).

You cannot combine units with only three exceptions: Independant Characters (including Tyranid Tyrants if they didn't change in the last Codex), Space Wolf Wolf-Guard / Eldar Warlocks / Necron Royal Court, and Imperial Guard Infantry Platoons.

Got it.

Ran into something when playing with a friend today. He assaulted my squad of 6 tactical marines with 20 cultists, bad rolls on over watch, he ends up losing the assault ( he lost 5 guys, I lost 2) so according to the BRB I win and he has to fall back.

We do Sweeping Advance, he loses and somehow my 4 marines kill 15 cultists, this normal and legit?

Waiting on someone to upload something online about the Psyker phase.

Anyone wanna tell me a general overview of the Psyker phase as well as the new objective cards. Bought both yesterday
