I'm rather happy about this change. Maybe it will mean fewer Aegis lines around. Stupid things showed up in too many of my games.

That is stupid , they are making people buy a 26euro book to use 1 model , they could us before without buying a book.

Do the unit indexes in the back list anything on Fortifications? Someone said that Fortifications have Hull Points now. Is that so?

I feel your pain. If I want to use my Griffon then I need to spend another $88 on a FW book.

Yes,depending on the size of the building you have 3-5 Hull points, small buildings have 3, medium buildings 4 and large buildings 5.

There is no further information on fortifications I could see, only to look in Stronghold Assault.

The rules in Stronghold Assault became the defacto rules in 7th (for folks who never read the book, SA changed/updated building rules). Additionally, there are a list of upgrades that you can purchase for Fortifications that are very interesting. The only problem we ever had was with the Void Shield Relay Network and how it would work with units partially in/out of range. The rest played just fine.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Meh. It's not really any different from having a Codex that tells you what units you can take. And I may be mistaken, but does the Stronghold Assault book not have a list of different fortifications you can take, as well as special rules and upgrades that weren't in the main book?

Kal'reia Sept Tau - Farsight Sympathizers

I assume 7th did nothing to address the void shields and blasts conundrum?

If i get guff for using the old WD edition for the Dakkajet rules even though its technically "no longer existing and i must buy the special rulebook to use that unit" then im pretty sure you'd get a lot of guff for using 6th fortifications, since they kinda changed a lot. In my defense of the Dakkajet, i KNEW the only change was they reworded Fighta Ace but i never took the damn thing so i didnt care.

No idea. 7th BRB doesnt say, and neither does it say if anything changed with its rules. Quad gun might not have Skyfire or Interceptor anymore since the rules dont cancel each other out anymore. Until someone buys the book, nobody knows if it changed.

Can still ask your opponent if hes cool with it though, as thats always the deciding factor anyway.
