So I'm running a 1500 point AM list geared towards all comers (MEQ and non-MEQ) and cannot decide which of these two tanks to take.

Both tanks are barrage, i.e. can completely hide behind LoS blocking cover and still fire. I dont even have to see the target. The Manticore treats the AP as coming from the central hole, while the Deathstrike wholly ignores cover. The Manticore gives me a reliable multiple S10 large blast saturation for the first 4 turns of the game (great against enemy parking lot), while the Deathstrike can vaporize anything from Gaunts to Terminators and seriously wreck a bunched up opponent and psychologically give me board control by making him spread his forces to somehow escape the impending doom. However, the Deathstrike is one shot.

So what to take?

The two are both good, but the manticore is mixed bag, he packs a lot of punch in the first crucial turns but when the enemy spreads out, it will lower the missiles effeciveness, but it will destroy blobs or nid/orks/necrons.
But the deathstrike is a bit unreliable but its main selling point is that it (eventually) fires a Strength 10 AP 1 APOCALYPTIC BLAST (y'know, the type of thing you would expect from a Titan), ignoring cover, and operating at full Strength against any and all vehicles caught in the explosion and its serves as you say as an psychologic weapon so the enemy will spread out his forces.
Both are good imo but they will be high priority targets, so take 1 or 2 platoons to defend it and whatch your enemy try to take it out and comming closer in your gunline just to take them out.
And it would be intersting if you put one of them on an landing padwith some guards on it if your trollface isn't usefull enough.

I would go with the Manticore. The turn one hitting potential and the four shots are a lot more useful in my eyes. However, 24" minimum range and no BS reduction can be a headache. It really is a weapon for hitting the opponents deployment zone, very good against gunlines and ruins. I think it has a good role at first turn psyker killing, which saves you some headaches against warp charge lists.

It is a pain to magnetize between the two options, because of how fiddly the parts are.

An ap1 pen only has a 33% chance of assploding a vehicle.

Manticore pens have a 0% chance so it's all about stripping HP.

Wyverns will kill more infantry than either.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

The manticore and deathstrike are too many points on a chimera chassis. Considering that my much cheaper, and less deadly, basilisk still always gets killed on turn 1, I prefer to diversify my firepower.

Get two wyverns and give them camo netting, put them behind cover.
