With the new Deep Strike rules deep striking vehicles count as moving at combat speed instead of cruising speed. You can now fire the DW ML on the turn the pod arrives. Is it worth 15 points for str5 ap- large blast, and what chapters benefit the most?

I think it's worth it for any chapter. Having an armor 12 all around vehicle that can plunk down large blasts onto your opponent's line is great. The main reason no one ever used them before is because they couldn't fire them when they landed. I will be trying them out myself, especially when i drop more than 1 pod behind/beside my opponent before they have moved.

If you emailed FW they would have sent you the rules. They have a new update coming out soon with the updated rules. But the pod has always been able to fire on landing with both blasts and missiles as an exception to the main rules.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM! |

The basic pod, not the FW one couldn’t. I think we are discussing the oft maligned Deathwind gun upgrade, replacing the stormbolter in the stock drop pod.
Allowing it to fire on the turn it lands does take one of the major problems away from it. It still is a chunk of points, and remains a short range weapon on an immobile, reasonably fragile platform.
The odd of me ever taking one have gone up, but remain low.

I think it's certainly worth it, especially with Basttkeforged Pods being super scoring. You'll want something to deter or dent the enemy trying yo remove you.
On a similar note, I've been thinking about the BA Redeemer. Drop in, fire one flamestorm normally, potms the other and snapshot the AC. It's risky getting close enough, but could realky clear a LZ in a hurry.
