So I figured with the FAQs out it would be a good time to talk about some of the major changes.

Blood Angels
-No longer have access to their own discipline
-Meph is level 3
-Techmarines get new bolster defenses

Chaos
-Ahriman can manifest the same witchfire three times!!!!
-Heldrake is now a hull mounted weapon(wahay I can take them again)

Eldar
Runes of Warding is +2 to a deny test. Pretty significant IMO for seer stars

Farsight
+2 to Deny the witch rolls within 12 - Still pretty good IMO, helps balance out the dice

Grey Knights
Aegis - Re-roll denys of one. Kinda Meh, but still as you get better deny rolls it just gets better and better.
Grey Knights lost their lore but got most of the good ones in addition the special characters gained access as well.
They specify that most of the regular units get banishment and hammerhand from santic
Vehicles got banishment and sanctuary. Very interesting. as they lost fortitude but meh, I doubt you were ever gonna use it
Reinforced Aegis is Re-roll any deny roll
Brotherhood banner lost auto force activate

Knights
Lost the special Ally status

Iyandan
If you select a knight or wraithlord they become a character(not sure if this is new)

Militarum
Volley gun doesnt have gets hot
Fixed the wargear stuff

Necrons
Gloom Prism is +2 to deny rolls
Special characters lost their transports(I think)

Space Marines
Can still ally with themselves(even though same faction)
Sternguard get objective secured with pedro!! Sweeetness, that changes things

Space Wolves
Rune Priests add 1 to deny the witch rolls(does this stack?)
Njal grats +2 to deny the witch rolls
Changed the points cost on upgrading to level 2!!
Lost Space Wolf Powers - Sadness, but jaws was......

Stronghold
Blast weapons only count as 1 hit on a void shield

Overall I am pretty happy with the FAQs and I am glad they got them to us pretty quick. Sad to see some things go, but I knew they would and I was happy to see that they are willing to do price changes on things to bring them more in line.

Editted for corrections: I was not familiar with all the books.

They don't have right wargear to exchange, so no, they can't change.

I can't see how anyone who's been playing for longer than a few months could be happy with this FAQ. Removing the BA, SW and Ork codex powers? Removing Fast vehicle from BA? Removing all of the previous ruling on things for no good reason at all?

This is one of the sloppiest job I've ever seen a professional company do and an industry leader at that!!

Losing Codex powers was a given, since Space Marines lost theirs with the new Codex.

D-pod didn't lose the 6+ on open field - it was a correction to the Reference page, where it had Stealth (it's a correction from the 6th FAQ as well)

Shadow in the Warp remains a great mystery, but hey, with all the nerfs they threw our way already I'm not surprised.

Daemon summoning factory is 100% legit now. That pissed me off quite a bit.
I was personally saddened by the loss of warp rift from the GK codex, RIP Mordrak bomb. Overall though I'm happy with the changes to my 2 armies (GK and IK)

Losing codex powers wasn't a given. What are you talking about. When did the BA and SW get a new codex? For this to be remotely similar, Space marines would have needed to have their codex powers removed at the START of 6ed.

Tau didnt lose 6+ in the open with d-pods, +1 cover works when you have no cover just like going to ground (done that money times and you'd be surprised how many times i get lucky with it, even though its more of a joke than a strat).

Farsight one, i actually prefer that over the old one. Old one was 4D6 deny the witch, take highest. Under current deny the witch rules, that means for every Warp i use i roll 4D6 looking for a 6. That can be kinda annoying since if i dont roll them 1 by 1, it can get mixed up (as rolling 8D6 does not mean im expending 2 warps. For my luck, my first attempt could give me 4 6's and the 2nd attempt give me 0 so i only denied 1).

Also, rather irrelevant since new codex is soon, but:
Orks:
Warphead is now Mastery Level 2 for 25pts
Zogwort/Weirdboyz now can only use daemonology spells, ignore the WAAAAGH table.
Zogwort cannot Squigify ICs anymore.

.....why WHY!! Squigification was the sole reason to bring him!!! yea it sucked and usually didnt work but it was HILARIOUS when it did lol.

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.

As soon SM lost their codex powers, it was easy to foresee others would follow suit. Only Eldar hold their powers (and it was launched half a year before SM).

I wasn't suprised by a bit with BA/SW losing their powers. However, they can get something with their new codexes. For now, it's jumping in the Psychic tables with the others

Which is super weird. Didn't lose it on Baal predators though. Was there a change in transports and vehicles moving while firing that i was not aware of?

BA did get a pretty hefty buff on psykers though. Ml2 only costing 25 points is pretty saucy. Mephiston being able to access all the different super cool powers (instead of just 2 like before), and furioso librarian dreads going up to ml2 for literally no reason is sick.

Oh feth, you're right! AHAHAHAHAHA! That gak is hilarious! I'll bet GW actually thinks that's potent enough too! I'll laugh myself to death over this Nid codex debacle one of these days, I swear. Oh well, new Orks soon, I'll go back to em I think, because I'm sure they cannot feth that codex up as bad as they have Nids anyway.

Tyranids: SitW is actually pretty huge with the bigger powers. The ones where you need more than 2x the WC cost to reliably cast the power. This means higher chance of rolling a perils. This then means a good chance of Bad Thingsā„¢ happening.

Initially I was outraged and distraught. After taking some time to look at the rules and how they will effect the most common armies, I was pleasantly surprised.

The Wraithknight being a character makes taking it as a Warlord an interesting option now - being able to challenge makes him an absolute nightmare for Chaos in particular. Before you didn't even consider it, possibly getting a buff from a Warlord trait in exchange for making your Warlord stand around by himself was not a good deal.

Heldrakes are now a tactically situational unit rather than a rounded all star unit - the drop in hits for Vector Strikes + the loss of arc on the flamer means it just won't be able to kill as much as it used to. Still useful units, but they won't carry the list like they used to imo.

The changes to all the psychic defence stuff (Rune Priests etc) was expected but is a huge hit for them they way they have ruled them. Remember that you don't get bonuses to stop blessings etc, so those deny buffs are much much less useful than the AOE they had before.

Trying to consolidate all the general FAQ talk into one place (news & rumors).

You can still open separate threads up to talk about specific items in the FAQs, of course.
