Hi guys,

I'm new to DakkaDakka but I've been painting models for the last couple of years or so. I've been concentrating on vehicles/walkers and the like for a couple of different gaming systems with a relatively heavy bias towards 40K. As you'll see I'm now leaning towards the smaller scale stuff like Dropzone Commander and in the future possibly Flames of War too. In the meantime, hope you like the pics!

That Riptide looks very realistic and genuinely intimidating.

Fantastic stuff here. Smooth, clean and crisp paintjob with great, subtle weathering. Really adds a lot of weight to the models. Bravo!

Riptide weathering is really well done.

So good it makes me want to swear - that riptide is with ease the best i've seen. I love how lifelike it is. The weathering is spot on, just enough presence, subtle, not OTT.

Cheers Squidbot, that Bommer was my first vehicle and I really went to town on it with the weathering. I sold it in the end but I've still got a soft spot for it… <sniff>

@ Million - thanks mate, much appreciated. The Riptide is my latest and I've got a bit more restraint where the weathering is concerned. A little goes a long way…

...unless it's Orky. Then it's totally justified to go mental with the 'rust sponge' : )

I am not exaggerating when I say that is easily the best Riptide I have seen. Very impressive. How did you do the armour (I realise that is generally the whole model, haha).

Insanely intimidating stuff here! Love the hades scorpotank!

Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless and perfunctory gift nobody ever asked for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down because there's nothing left to drink. Sure once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or a English toffee, but they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits of hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those all you've got left is a. An empty box, filled with useless brown paper wrappers.
