Hello there
Can you take Lord of war as ally from other faction?
For example can my chaos marine army take Tyranid Heriophant Biotitan as (Come the apocalypse) Ally?
or are you limited to Lords of war from your primary detachment's faction?

Lord of War is a FOC slot, not an allied detachment

The combined arms detachment given in the rule book as one we can take includes a lord or war slot. So you could take the the biotitan (assuming it qualifies for the lord of war) with a 1 HQ and 2 troop tyranid tax.

But that would be my primary detachment, not allied one.
Ah, I got it. Since Imperial knights are not lords of war but "troops", you can just take 2 of them as allied detachment (1 HQ knight and 1 Troops knight), right?

Yes.
As for the lords of war, you would need to just take a second Combined Arms Detachment of Tyranids with 1 HQ, 2 Troops, and the Biotitan. Lords of War are limited to Combined Arms detachments. But you can have as many of them as you want and they don't have to all be from the same faction.

Ratliker, There is something called an Imperial Knight Detachment, and one can take these Detachments in the same way as other Detachments.

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures. |
