Hey community! I'm an American, but my wife is British (Welsh, specifically). We're planning to go back to the UK for Christmas this year, and it's our first trip back since I've been re-bitten by the hobby bug. We'll be spending most of our time in Cardiff, but we'll also be taking a trip to London to visit her brother.

We live in Chicago (not exactly a backwater) so there are plenty of resources here, but I imagine the shops in the UK are perhaps a bit better. Are there places in Cardiff and London (and possibly Bristol) which I should definitely not miss? Specifically, are there places that carry Forgeworld stuff in stock? Or is that all just an online thing?

I think its a online thing only, as its a sister company to games workshop + some of the biggest stuff is cast to order is several weeks min to them sending out the finished item fro, date of order.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

I have no clue how Dakka's moderation work. I expect it involves throwing a lot of d100 and looking at many random tables.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

North of your position

The only place where you'll find Forgeworld stuff in stock is in Warhammer World, in Nottingham.

Dark sphere is based in London. From what I remember hearing their store is pretty good.

It is a bit out of the way but both mantic and gw are based in Nottingham and so it might be worth a day trip over there if you have the time. Gw hq is not as good (imo) as it used to be but the game hall has a couple of cool tables and the bar is very cheap (when I went a couple of years ago it was a pound a pint anyway...).

Edit: gw hq sells some forgeworld stuff as well from what I remember. You can also check it there and then for missing and or horrifically miscast bits

We have a GW store in Cardiff and also a FLGS called Firestorm Games http://www.firestormgames.co.uk/. Nowhere to buy Forgeworld locally other than online.

+1 for warhammer world if you travel to Nottingham.

Everyone wants me to go to Nottingham, but honestly, I'm just keeping my wife on board with the hobby as it is! If I start declaring side-trips to the midlands specifically to blow Junior's college fund, I strongly think I'll be flying back solo!
