Gents,
Can you recycle sprues? I mean, I know it's possible, but do any of y'all know the little code so I can check with my local municipality? Just something my wife mentioned, and I thought that it was a good question.

In one sense I've seen some interesting terrain pieces made almost entirely out of sprue.

Never tried disposing of them in that way before.

Ha. Yeah I was thinking it would be about ways to craft with them as well. I've been meaning to make an Ork palisade with mine for a while now....

if you play orks, the possibilities are limitless. a few sprues, some plasticard, a handful of the right bitz, ya can build just about anything. i have a pre-wwii french tank i was working on turning into a skullhamma at one point. i was using sprues as a frame to widen the treadbase and lengthen the body, but it was kind of a halfhearted project... i may get back to it, one of these days.

I think he means turn them over to a recycling center. To do that you have to know what kind of plastic it is, which is, I believe, the point of this thread. I've got 5k worth of Dark Eldar sprues sitting in a box, so I was thinking of posting an identical thread to this.

They are polystyrene so should be recyclable.

If its polystyrene it's #6, but is it really poly styrene?

GW's plastic is really polystyrene, yes. If it wasn't, polystyrene cement wouldn't work on it...
