Hey guys, I used to play my space marines, but I've rarely touched them recently as I no longer like them. I was thinking of selling them on ebay but have no clue how much I should be charging. If you guys could give me a guess on how much I should charge/how much you would pay for my 1000 point army:

Chief Librarian Tigurias
One champlain on a bike
One chapter master
One librarian in terminator armour

one terminator squad

one scout squad and sergeant telion
two sets of ten tactical squads

one thunderfire cannon

So how much would you guys charge for this? I know I have a lot of HQ choices, so I might sell one or two separately.

Depends on if they are painted and if they are, how well they are painted. Their general condition. If they are magnetised. How well they are built etc. in general. And so on.

that is a pretty good collection though.


I might be interested myself if they are in good condition.

I'd post it up on ebay for say 180 starting and put a buy it now price of 300.

Well some of the models are in poor condition (mainly just the scouts) and most are unpainted, about 10 of the tactical troops are painted. And the thunderfire cannon just needs to be assembled (all the pieces are there).

I was thinking of just putting it at 100 dollars solid, after all, as a fellow gamer myself I understand this hobby is expensive.

Just make it an eBay auction. 4 days long, you want it to end at about 7pm EST on a Thursday. If you regularly cross the border, don't put down Canadian shipping, go USPS. You'll get fair market value that way.

Put your title something like "Warhammer 40k Space Marine lot, 40 models" and make sure your first picture has everything in it, laid out neatly, with good lighting, in focus. Make sure your description has everything mentioned by name

It is amazing how much lower an auction can go without following these simple guidelines (and I profit from it all the time).

I find that the general rule of thumb with selling models is that unless painted to a good standard it's usually fair to sell them at about a third of what you bought them for brand new. However if they are painted well and tournament ready then you should be able to mark up from what you originally bought them for by at least a third.

Just food for thought.

If you strip the paint off yourself and THEN sell them, you'll get more than if you sell crummily painted models on ebay and expect the buyer to strip the paint off.
