Hi everyone,
I used to be really into this hobby but left it about 2 years ago or so after just gradually losing my interest. Anyway, I'm starting to get back into it again and decided to dig out my old unfinished Krieg figures I had (still got about 20-odd Guardsmen along with some heavy weapons and Death Riders) and get painting again!
Problem is, I can't remember what colours I used for my original Krieg scheme and
GW have gone through 2 paint changes (feels like it anyway!) so I don't really know what would get a good match. Also, my technique has changed a bit since then so I was basically going to start fresh.
I've been scouring the internet for Krieg artwork, other peoples' models and WW1 uniforms for some inspiration for a colour scheme but I'm just not finding anything that's really catching me. I remember reading that Krieg typically favoured plain, browny/grey/green colours rather than anything colourful that stands out but I'm not wanting to do a grey scheme like before and I did up a test model in a greeny colour and it didn't look right. So I was interested in defying the fluff and going for a more stand-out scheme.
So,
finally, I'm asking for Dakka's help! Does anyone have any ideas they've had floating around for Krieg troops? Or any ideas they'd be interested to see done? I have a lot of Guardsmen to practice on so I'm open to anything really. I'd really appreciate any ideas anyone has, based off real world troops or from your own imaginations. Oh and as a side, I was going to have them based on a desert world rather than the snow wastes of my previous
DKOK guys or the muddy stuff typically associated with them.
Thanks in advance everyone.
