So I'm planning on picking up a lot of 19th century Calvary miniatures from Warlord Games for use in my Empire army as Knights, however, as a fellow player pointed out to me: Calvary from that era were not barded! So my question is: how could I model barding onto the horses,or at least model on to them some sort of way to distinguish them from my pistoleer's horses? I'd rather not go out and spend $30 on horses just so I could mash them together with the 19th century riders

Thanks!

Greenstuff armor? Most empire horses were armoured vs barded anyway.
