Apparently there's some new hot actor or something that paints (and maybe?) plays Warhammer of some variety. Being the pop-culture branch of ESPN.COM, Grantland did a little bit of an article about it and others who may or may not paint and/or play. Dakka Dakka was name-dropped (though not linked to, strangely enough).

Grantland has a pretty big readership, so there might be some more new people showing up!

The article in question.

Dakka has a pretty big readership, too . But, it's always nice to get plugged! There's certainly enough of that going on in reverse here usually

Not to be that nerd-pedant who starts a sentence with the word “Technically,” but: TECHNICALLY, Warhammer refers to an entire category of tabletop fantasy and/or sci-fi war games — played using armies of 25-millimeter-tall metal or plastic figurines, often hand-painted

Hm, 45 minutes google check is not enough it seems.

Nope - and not even a little bit.

Mutual respect, or at worst, the 'if you don't have anything nice to say..." rule applies.

Warhammer - well on the road to genericide.

Kirasu: Have we fallen so far that we are excited that GW is giving us the opportunity to spend 58$ for JUST the rules? Surprised it's not "Dataslate: Assault Phase"

AlexHolker: "The power loader is a forklift. The public doesn't complain about a forklift not having frontal armour protecting the crew compartment because the only enemy it is designed to face is the OHSA violation."

AlexHolker: "Allow me to put it this way: Paramount is Skynet, reboots are termination attempts, and your childhood is John Connor."

This reminds me of when I used to work in a Comic/Games shop back in the early 2000s and moms would come in and ask "Do you sell the Warhammers here?"

And that is when you say yes! And then hand her an already wrapped, unmarked box, with a wink and an exchange of currency.

Later, when little Timmy opens the box, he finds a two handed spiked warhammer with which to smite his foes!

Best birthday ever.
