Greetings all. I will post here all I'm doing for my Zerg-Tyranid Army project as a Work in Progress thread. For now I won't give perfect timeline or % because I'm still in the ''tryout'' phase.

I'm working on Hydralisk and Overlord next. I'll post them here when I'm done.

For now, this is my general planning :

Zerg Broodmother (Queen SC2) = Swarmlord/Hive Tyrant
Overlord = Malanthrope
Infestor = Tervigon
Zergling = Hormagaunt
Infested Marine = Termagant
Hydralisk = Warrior
Roach = Ravener
Mutalisk = Harpy
Defiler = Venomthrope
Ultralisk = Scythed Hierodule
Corrupter = Hive Crone
Lurker = Mawloc
Kerrigan = Flyrant

I will keep some model as they are because I think they are cool/I already have them/I don't know what else to do in Zerg, such as :

Trygon Prime
Zoanthrope
Deathleaper

I will also do some terrain. Probably an Hatchery, some Creep Colony and an Infested Command Center. I will base my army on snow, just because I don't have an army with snow base and I wanted to do a map snow-based. Plus, the white on the base will help in terms of contrast with my Zerg since they will be brown/purple with the ''classic'' look.

If you have any suggestion, commentaries, etc. don't hesitate. But please keep in mind three things :
1- Respect yo
2- I'm not a pro, so don't fret if my modeling or greenstuffing isn't perfect. Its not a commission or anything, just for fun. Still, I like to better myself in painting/modeling, so I can ALWAYS use critics.
3- If you don't like Starcraft mixing with WH40K, I don't want to know.

Hello , i think is really good idea to convert ur army in zergs, this is what tiranid are hahaha i ve been playing starcraft since 98 and i know all names but not the tiranid names sorry.

And ur lings too, maybe you can remive wings because they only have wings in the campaing and you gonna be mad bcause you have to convert a lot of them.

Ultralisk are carnifex for sure

Queen can be the tiranid CG

Idra for sure the warriors

Mutalisk or even the crab guys throwing little zergs the arpy or

Overlords can be the bighead guys i think zoantrop.

Yeah I was not sure about the wings on the Zerglings. But the models look much cooler with the wings. If not, they look too much like Hormagaunt. Maybe I'm gonna use them as marker for Adrenal Glands or something.

Hello everyone ! Some update. I've been working on the basis of the Overlord, Tervigon and Defiler. I will post further in the next days (or weeks?).

For now, I want you to evaluate those two next zergling test. With the one in the first post, which one do you prefer ? The first one indeed have more stuff on it (wings), but it doesn't mean its better. Also, the third one is EASILY the fastest one to do on mass production.

I forgot to say what were the difference :

1.
- Warrior head
- Wings (as per SC2 campaign)
- Side horns kind of things

In terms of time, the third one (being the less cool) took me very little time to do. The middle one is still doable in mass. The first one took me so much time between the triming of the head and the wings stuff that it's not doable in mass. I would have to do 5-6 model and try to recast them myself.

From memory the zergling talons come out of a joint behind the front leg joint. Maybe try shift them back a joint?

otherwise, I think they all get the idea across, so you may as well go for the simpkest. Having said that I really do like the wings

After looking closely at pictures, you are right. I will try to modify a bit the design and post it here.
