Hi - Short Fuse Designs launched our Modular Gaming Corridors Kickstarter tonight (6/9)...

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/981366386/corridor-sets-from-sci-fi-to-steampunk-available

There are 6 different corridor themes to choose from with more on the way, we've got options to include windows and exteriors as well. You can choose between a "single-wide" option and a "double-wide" option shown here below...

Single-wide set

Minis are from Westwind's Empire of the Dead

Double-wide set

Minis are Infinity and Mercs

The complete Single-wide core set

The complete Double-wise core set

We just added a Do-It-Yourself room builder option

There will be 15 different themes available to backer by the end of the campaign (Gothic and Sci Fi Colony themes are coming shortly, they are a little more complex than the other designs). Here is what we have unlocked so far...

Anyone who pledges, even $1, before the end of June 25th will be able to participate in the last two themed custom designs that will be available...I will be surveying backers, getting ideas, taking image links and other material to design two more themed corridors. Almost all of our backers have Infinity as their game of choice so this will be a good opportunity to participate in designing something really cool and influencing the end product.

Are there plans to just do straight up floor tiles? 6 x 6 or 12 x 12?

Something we can use to make our own projects and cut how we see fit?

Be great to be able to make out own bunkers and what not with some nice scifi floor textures.

Add-ons just updated to include the corridor piece you use to connect single-wide and double-wide corridors.

Some gothic Shrine/temple/temple-basement themes would be greatly appreciated by the Sisters of Battle players

Cheers

I'm a bit more interest now that you have larger terrain squares. Will you be releasing different textures?

The Friday I was talking about was "next" Friday. This one that just went by was "this" Friday.

I added some new corridor pieces and a new bonus for early backers.

Next week (actually going to be Saturday rather than Friday) I'll do the big reveal I promised.

Unfortunately, I don't think it does.

Some campaigns make accommodations for it though...

I would love to get a set, but don'thave the funds right now to support the campaign. Is this a kickstarter only type thing or will it be possible to purchase a set later as well?

"I have seen war in all its forms. I have seen feral world savages braining each other with stones and I have monitored the death of a whole planet at the hands of a virus bomb. I have seen Space Marines drop to certain death and win. I have seen Titans crush whole platoons underfoot.

But there is no more stirring sight in war than the charge of massed cavalry."

Yes. All sets will be available for retail purchase after the Kickstarter pledges have been fulfilled.

My big worry is that he hasn't got his own laser cutting machine & the funding value is $6000. I understand that a machine at the lower end is about this much. Than there is a lot of time to learn how to use it properly + upkeep which can include a new laser, During the 'learning', you can ruin lasers by accident too.
(please correct me if I've got any of the above wrong).
Then there are the materials costs (mdf is cheap but not that cheap) & his time + the cost of packaging.

Does his maths add up?

I am really tempted to back this but with the issues pointed out to me on another forum (from a guy that does laser cutting) & trying to watch my KS spends I'm really on the fence.
Still don't know which will win out - desire or logic.

Very good questions. I'll do my best to answer them.

The $6k funding goal was determined from the lease prices rather than purchase. The lasers I have experience with are on the more expensive side when it comes to purchase price so I have decided to target something more achievable by going with the lease.

The material and shipping take up the rest of the cost of the $6k. The one thing that I have not accounted for is my time.

I tried to make the funding point as close to break even as I could so the number I came up with was something that only covered the tangibles needed to get up and running. Believe me, I've lost some sleep over how tight the funding is on this but I was hoping to use this as an opportunity to do a lot more on the terrain side after this is fulfilled so that short term small profit is made up for with a long term larger gain.

Pledged for $190 + P&P.
Fingers crossed & bank manager angry!
Does anybody know if you pay via Amazon (the option given to me), is the rate of exchange based on that day's market or when the payment is made at the end of the funding period??

Payment for KS projects is taken at the end,

so your exchange rate will be whatever your card on Amazon payments is offering then

Only 7 hours left on this kickstarter! If you want to get in on it now is the time! It would be awesome if it makes it to $12.5k so we can get some extra doors for Zone Moratlis....
