So I run this at local club - it sometimes connects or ends up getting gut punched 13 inches before meal time.

1 Flyrant Double Devs + BLW 230pt

1 Naked Tyrant 165pt

2x Naked Fex 240pt

1x Dakka Fex 150pt

50ish mix Hormagribbly - 215ish

What can I do to tie up gunlines that walk backwards on me? My strategy is pretty much run at em (cover and catalyst where possible) atm. Any advice?

On paper it sounds like fun but in today's meta, I would think this would just get ripped apart.

On the other hand Id love to test it out, a couple of carnifex's sound awesome. I'd try and fit hive commander onto your tyrant so you can outflank 20 or so gants and maybe add in 1 or 2 electroshock grub templates on the tyrants.

Hey - you know what I think thats the answer - I never thought of hive commander. 3+ on turn 2 right? with random edge?

Not sure if you're being sarcastic but yeah! Gives your gants a bit more survivabillity and a chance to lock in at a closer range and taking the threat off your carnifex's.

Nothing's scarier than a horde of bugs in your face!

Yeah no - actually serious, I suppose it will have to be a 'look at me' distraction as no synapse? unless flyrant can fly in to mind them... AS an additional thought would a small 15pt cluster of spore mines be good? dropping them close to heavy weapons can cause a fun amount of panic/divert fire.

Another possibility, you can drop the the two "vanilla" fexen, and toss in two Mawlocs. Mawloc is always a good answer to Gunlines.

The will of the hive is always the same: HUNGER

I've had some success running a pseudo-horde with my Nids (20 Gargoyles, 40 Hormagaunts, 30 Termagants, 1 Tervigon). I've never lost a game yet against my local Tau player (although he is new to the game). I've found that Mawlocs are essential to making this gribble-horde work. Having those guys disrupt gunlines and soak wounds is important for the little bugs to make contact. With the speed of Gargoyles and Hormagaunts you can get a huge chunk of your army in their face on turn 2.

Yeah - my friends were telling me 'get mawlocs'. The turn 2 getting in there face thing can be a struggle with enemies that walk backwards / deploy well. It starts to look more 3/4 at which point you are in trouble.

Does anyone fall for 'oh no, mines have dropped in front of my unit - better shoot that and not gribblies' thing?

The concept of mawloc + flyrant tag team flank crushing is appealing.

Interesting list for sure. I would drop the dakkafex and use the points for 2 tyrant guard and 2 venoms (dropping the needed horms). The tyrant guard will create a mini-deathstar and improve your synapse survivability. The venoms will protect your swarm and allow it to get to your opponent with a lot more wounds left.

I rarely see people run CC nid lists, but I would love to see this work.

Necrons - 3000 pts
HH Imperial Militia/Cults - 1000 points Check out my P&M blog! (https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/805464.page)
Bretonnia - 4500 pts

Thanks for the input. Venoms certainly are lacking and these feel like a must-take now.

cc nids are a tricky beast - like I said - a sledgehammer.
