Rise! Rise from the ashes oh ye dead thread! Rise and serve the dark gods once more!

To answer your questions: yes, only if the target is more 50% or more obscured, see answer #2.

Jetbikes and vypers have always been in a lot of trouble. It's part of the charm.

That's where the list started originally.

Everyone seems latched onto the idea that using the prisms as cover is required.

It isn't. It's a neat trick, that's all.

But would it be effective at 1500 points????

.Only a fool believes there is such a thing as price gouging. Things have value determined by the creator or merchant. If you don't agree with that value, you are free not to purchase.

2000 Pts - Eldar Roster - Prism/Vyper Army

H.Q.
1 Farseer @ 140 Pts
Unit Type: Jetbike Infantry; Psyker; Fortune ; Turbo-boosters; Ghost Helm (GH); Rune Armour (RAmr); Runes of Warding (RofWard); Runes of Witnessing (RofWit); Eldar Jetbike (EJB); Shuriken Pistol (Sp); Witchblade (WB); TL Shuriken Catapult (TL-Scat) (x1)

Unit Type: Jetbike Infantry; Psyker; Fortune ; Turbo-boosters; Ghost Helm (GH); Rune Armour (RAmr); Eldar Jetbike (EJB); Shuriken Pistol (Sp); Witchblade (WB); TL Shuriken Catapult (TL-Scat) (x1)

I would give the Farseers singing spears @+3pts each. To make best use of their Bs5. The only time not to is if you want Mind War. I would also give one spirit stones and guide because of the firepower and fragility of some of your units. You may need to "guarantee" that your shots hit.

Troops
3 Guardian Jetbike Squadron @ 76 Pts
Unit Type: Jetbike Infantry; Turbo-boosters; Eldar Jetbike (EJB); Shuriken Cannon (SCan) (x1); TL Shuriken Catapult (TL-Scat) (x2)

No problems here. I would consider buying warlock bikers. Mainly because you can, also a bit of Destructor spam really helps clear up hordes and medium infantry. Finally squads of four remain at half strength until they lose three members.
Three warlock bikers with Destructor will cost you 165pts, you can make this up elsewhere.

Fast Attack
1 Vyper Squadron @ 315 Pts

Please ditch the holofields, you get a questonable bonus from them, and the price is way too high, it's 315pts!!!
also upgrade at least one unit to EML as previously advised. You need the backup firepower in case your prism cannon fails to do their job.

Also with the change in defensive weapons rules you may well be better off dropping the shuricannon from most of the Vypers. IIRC you are only moving 6" now, drop the cannon and you can move 12" and fire your guns - and get your fast skimmer bonus too.

Assuming you upgrade one squadron to EML, drop the holofields and the shuricannon you will have saved 390pts.

Heavy Support
1 Fire Prism @ 190 Pts
Holo-Field (Vehicle) (H-F); Spirit Stone (V: SpStn); Vectored Engines (VE); Shuriken Cannon (SCan); Prism Cannon (PC)

Again drop the shuriken cannon saving 30pts. also drop the vectored engines, they are great for Wave serpents and falcons with passengers but are no use for a Fire Prism. If by any chance you are immobilised you are dead anyway. You stop and then the next hits smack you like the light tank you are. vectored engines are not that bad but save the 60pts, it all adds up.

Elites
Adding the 390pts saved in Fast Attack and the 90pts saved in Heavy Support, minus 171pts spent on warlocks and singing spears. This leaves 309pts. A good sum for a decent Wave Serpent and combat squad. Your army is almost totally lacking in close combat ability. So you need the help here.

Buy a Wave serpent with TL shuriken cannon, TL catapults, spirit stones and vectored engines. It would be nice to get TL EML but we can look at the after. you have 179pts for a decent squad to go in it. I would go with all rounders Striking Scorpions or Dire Avengers. If you like drop the warlocks and take two Wave serpents and get both squads at 6-8 strong.

For a start you make the army stronger by adding to the number of vehicles. five tanks is better than three, and you army will look more impressive for it.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.
