If I were local, I would definitely want to play a game with Jervis, GW-style.
2 hours to talk with the head (figurehead?) of GW games design? That's a lot of good time to give him some perspective of likes, dislikes, and wants.
And if I went, I'd bring a "rules problem" army to actually see first-hand how GW plays 40k. I think it'd be a huge help in understanding why the rules are the way that they are, and what they're trying to describe. And I'm sure it'd be an eye-opener for Jervis.
Easily worth my time.

Thank you, I certainly will! I'm planning on doing a full battle report on my site, so I'll be sure to let everyone know when it's all ready to go.

So, anyone have any ideas what army I should take? I can do my mechanized guard, or if I get it all painted, I can take the Mega Marines.
Any favorites?

Whichever one has the most potential to expose rules flaws, game breaking mechanics and the utter insanity of KPs. This is your chance to change the world!

Well, out of the two, that would be the marines, but I always run a half company. Three 10 man tac squads, a 10 man assault squad, and a 10 man dev squad. It's just what I like to see on the board, regardless of how effective it is. Generally speaking, that set up tends to do pretty well for itself.
I guess the main reason I want to take them though is just to give me some motivation to paint them. I also figure they have less chance of catastrophic failure in-game. Because knowing my luck, this will be the one battle report that Jervis crushes his opponent. Seeing as how that will be me, I'd rather not take my chances with the flashlights.
I love my guard, but they aren't so hot at 1500 points.

$300 to play a fluff army against Jervis. Very nice. I'll laugh my butt off if he shows up with a beatdown list. Actually he probably will just play 1500pts pulled off the shelf at the Bunker, but who knows. That would be kind of insulting. Paying $300 to play Jervis and he kit bashes a list from the store. I hope he doesn't do that.

Jervis plays grey marines, and there's nothing worse than vanilla Marine-on-Marine action.
So I'd suggest the Guard. Guard has character and flavor. Even if you metagame the hell out of it with AP3 Pie and massed Las/Plas.
If you've got the models, bring Drop Plasma. It's mean and exposes serious issues with Doctrines and Guard Fluff.

Play something fun. It will not make your e-peen any bigger to play a douchebag list and will be a waste of money and time for both of you.

The reason I and others suggested bringing a 'douchebag' list, is because Jervis can actually do something to change the crap stuff in 40k. This isn't to say I hate 40k (obviously) but I see some things wrong with it. It's up to Dave though, if he wants to play and have a laugh, then go for it Dave, enjoy it. If you want to raise issues do that. It's your game.

Okay but then to be fair, you have to build a douchebag list from a 5th edition codex, since that is all that has been under his control.

I'd keep in mind that Jervis isn't unaware that there are problems, he just doesn't see them in the same light we do. Dave could bring the nastiest list that exploits every rule, and JJ would simpy say, "that's one way to play, but I like to play a different way."
As a semi-public figure, I bet that Jervis has mastered the art of pretending to listen politely while somebody rants to him.

That is indeed the plan! I mainly want to have an enjoyable experience, but I might throw out a few questions about things I think are a little silly. Overall I just really wanted to meet and play Jervis, and as long as it is a good game, I'm happy.
So I am trying out the 1500 pt guard list tonight, I'll see what I think. I really don't like having to choose between my Vanquishers and my Chimeras, because the Vanquishers always win. Hopefully he doesn't mind if I use forgeworld, because the Demolisher is the only kit that doesn't have a FW turret!
I really wish the Steel Legion models included a flamer, as that is the one thing I really miss in my army... I never get to use the teardrop template, and it makes me sad.

Bring the Vanquishers and FW stuff - it's more fun stuff.
Bring a Hellhound or two. They're excellent sources of teardrop templates...

Well, I lost tonight to Dark Angels, not a good sign, lol! I went second, penetrated every rhino on the table, only knocked out 1. Then the marines got on me, and my poor guardsmen suffered terribly. It ended up being a close game, I was three models away from tying the game...
I thought about a hellhound, but I think I'd either have to give up the Demolisher or 2 Autocannon Chimeras... I don't think the tradeoff is worth it against Marines. Now, if I could convince him to play orks...
