I've never seen a Monolith like that before! It will be a once of a kind! Nicely executed - it is phenominal! I think the extra time you took getting it to be geometrically perfect has paid off. Can't imagine how it will look when done.

The white plastic is the plasicard spacers that lengthen their legs, pre-dremeling. Make the Warrior legs proportionately sized for the Destroyer bodies. If you look at the built guys from before, you can see the white stripes on their legs.

More real cool conversions with mediocre paint jobs!

This gives me a full unit of the new Destroyers painted, and two full units minus one guy of the Heavy Destroyers painted. The missing heavy's legs broke when I was trying to reinforce them. A couple of these guys have their entire bulk balanced on a single leg, which on a Necron is tiny thin, not to mention there is a minimum of 4 glue joints per leg. Hopefully I should be able to finish his repairs, and get the next set of five Destroyers built tomorrow. I think the Lord is pretty much done now, just gona give it more time to see if his green stuff cloak will harden more overnight. Then I'll have Friday to try and get those all painted, and I'll be in great shape to look my best on Saturday.

Everything is miles better than what I could do, but I dislike the destroyers who have their "Backpacks" more than 85 degrees from the body.

The ones with the high angles on the flight packs, are the ones engaging flight mode, while the others are in stand by. In my own little mind, I even know the mechanics of these things.

Hmm. Now you explain it that way, it changes my mind on those ones. There is still one that I think looks a tad strange though. Two across from the top right. I haven't seen it from all angles, but from here it reminds me of one of those children suspended from a peg in a school coatroom by their collar.

I love the 'lith idea though. Unique Necrons are a rarity.

Oh, and as you seem to know your stuff about Necrons, I have a slight question. You know the Particle whip? Well can it fire in any direction, or only the front, where there is nothing bending over it?

I think I know which one you're talking about. He's just kind of hovering at the moment. Not really moving at speed or anything.

As far as the Particle Whip.. "The particle whip uses the large blast marker and its range and line of sight are measured from any of the Monolith's weapons." As per the FAQ, so you'd check range and los from one of the four guns on the corners, your choice. No, it doesn't many any sense to me either, but they rewrote several of the rules in the FAQ, and at least this one was a beneficial change.

Bah, forgot to pause to take a WIP shot between a couple of the stages. Wanted to do a side by side before and after with the chest/back pieces. Got close up of the back here though. With the chest piece, I cut the shoulder pads off and keep those to add to the flight pack. The shoulder blades on the back are dremeled down more flush, but to still leave a fair hump at the shoulders to attach the pack to. I drill the slot where the spine normally goes deeper to slide the wires from the gun into.

Next shot has the chests attached to the spines and the right upper arms in place. The two on the left are future fliers.

Next thing is pretty much assembling all the assorted parts. Glued their guns on, which is a nice fete of dexterity as you're gluing the right elbow, left shoulder, and left wrist, three separate pieces, all at the same time, and trying to hold them at the desired angle long enough for the glue to stick. Spot of glue to put the head on. Insert wires into the holes drilled in the guns and glue. Pop em on a base. Just need to give the wires some time for a decent set before trying to get them into the hole in the back. The tension on the wires makes it a pain in the butt. I'll work on their flight packs while waiting.

Not going to have time to finish painting the last unit I got built, and I still have the old unit that's not converted over to the new style, but here's all my Destroyers I'm planning on running tomorrow. I'll make sure to have those last two units fully completed in time for me go to Baltimore.

It all looks great so far. I haven't seen too many converted Neccos out there.

Definitely looking forward for the final shot of everything painted and set. I mean, as well as everything in-between.

I really dig the scarab look.

I also think the WIP shot of them floating without the backs looked kind of cool with the wires swirling around them in an ethereal sort of way. Something I'll have to think about using someday ^_-.

You know, I kind of hate you people now. I've been working on a couple things, I was going to post an update, and include a nice pun about making my We'll Be Back roll on the thread, but noooooooooooooo, you just had to bump it and bring it back first didn't you?

Oh well, watch this space. I should have a little something later tonight maybe, but this weekend for sure.

Well hurry up I wanna see what progress you are making with your crons. I am really liking what you have so far.

The whole destroyer bodies being turned into jet pack things is nice. Its not something you see every day so I like it even more.

Alright that is all. Now hurry up and get some new pics up already!

Love the whole thing. Very cool.

If someone wants a plasma core for a monolith you could get these two items:

USB Plasma ball:

USB Power:

Would be pretty cool!

You'd have to build the monolith around it but damn that'd be cool if someone could pull it off.

Aduro, I command ye.

Having it strobe through different colours might be cool.

LOL - at $2.34 including shipping it'd be cool just to play with anyway!
