I built my Black Templar and Imperial Guard armies around 4th Edition's rules and quirks. In 5th, I find my IG lackluster (and am currently waiting for a new codex before expanding them any more) and my BT more powerful. Not that they were a beast of an army to begin with, but now with Run and the new Assault resolution rules, I find them tougher, faster, and more surviveable all around.
My Deathwing was built in the first month of 5th Edition. I originally though they were going to be a "meh" class of army that took an awesome unit, fielded bunches of them, and then performed badly on the field. However that was not the case. I've played about 10 games with them, and am very satisfied with my 6 wins and 3 ties.
They may not be the shootiest army out there (though with so many Assault Cannons and Storm Bolters, some may beg to differ!) but they are damn hard to kill, especially when you have 30 of them sitting on one or two objectives waiting for your opponent to try and move at them.
In all, I play a lot more games, but I have noticed a trend in my army of choice in that it has shifted from Black Templars to IG to Deathwing. I still play all 3 armies (and am planning on Orks, Armored Company and Thousand Sons CSM in the future), but with 5th Edition's new rules, I've changed my style of play -- as well as the armies I field -- in order to compensate for the new rules.
