you might be married but is your wife/husband also a wow addict. I hate mmorpg's. I play 40k but im still popular at school.Kids now i play 40k and they accept it. All the kids who play WOW and other MMORPG's are nerds and geeks and no one likes them.

I have at my command an entire battle group of the Imperial Guard. Fifty regiments, including specialised drop troops, stealthers, mechanised formations, armoured companies, combat engineers and mobile artillery. Over half a million fighting men and thirty thousand tanks and artillery pieces are mine to command. Emperor show mercy to the fool that stands against me, for I shall not.

I enjoy WoW, but I don't think I would play it unless I had friends that played it too, to play it with.

For one thing, I'm not an addict, and I'll thank you not to be such a tool. My wife doesn't play.

You're within your rights not to like MMOs, but don't go slandering us who do because of your own biases. You might think you're popular, but your lack of command of the English language points you out as the kind of mouthbreather who drags his knuckles as he walks. Is that a fair thing to say? No, but neither is what you're insinuating. Your school is not the be-all, end-all of existence, and until you have a bit more experience with people, kindly keep your gob shut.

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

I mean sure a bought an mmorpg once Cough city of villains Cough but I never actually played it I only bought It for the heroclix and comics. Oh and this is just my opinion and if you really want to go ahead

My brother buys on average at least one console game a month, sometimes two and when the hotspots appear like Christmas he's been known to pick up three or four depending on the years releases.

I'd say on average he's spending £60 a month on games, where I am spending £16 for me and the wife to play WoW. I've also brought eight other games (mostly budget price or cheaper, two full price) this year and Wrath for a total of an additional £10 per month.

So for the time I enjoy WoW I'm happy to be spending half what he is a month, and yet where as he plays a game, finishes it and moves on mostly not to touch it again. (Apart from Call of Duty and Pro Evo) I'm still happily playing with characters I started nearly two years ago.

So although I play monthly, WoW in the long term has worked out much cheaper for me as I only pick up the odd really must have titles now, not loads like my brother still does.

Also the uber-geek comment is pretty weak tbh, you pull out a box of Space Marines in front of a gang of Chavs and you'll be still taunted just as much till the sun goes home.

Where the hell did this little errant tidbit come from? Do you still believe that D&D players go out and slaughter one another with swords? Get out of the 1980s, please.

Welcome to the reality that everything that isn't jock or female gets slammed as a nerd (and even some of the ladies get it too).

Imperial wrote:and seriously who dishes out 40 bucks every two months?

Here's some basic math for ya... $15/month does not equal $40 every two months. If this is your command of math, then I hope your opponents are checking your army list totals.

So, you slam WoW as being the province of uber geeks, but you then admit to buying CoV, a whole game, just to scavenge bits of greater geekery from it. Wow... my irony meter is off the scale.

Oh thank you, kind lord, for granting dispensation to us lowly commoners to do what we'd like with our own money. If you don't get off the high horse, I'm shooting it.

Well ever hear about that new report from I think korea or china where the parents neglected a child because they were playing WOW so much the child died. For the 40 bucks thing that is how much it is in Australia. I bought CoV because I wanted the stuff in it and that my friend actually wants to play the game so I gave him the disc. Well I'm sorry that I offended you my mistake I did not mean it that way

Yes but if you are going to suggest a game is to be avoided because of the actions of a few idiots, then Grand Theft Auto would be on that list, as would a few others. I mean come on you can't really consider holding anything against stuff via the actions of idiots, this is why we have 'open by hand' on Lucozade bottles. I mean seriously wtf kinda person made that mandatory.

I got into WoW a couple of months ago and I got hooked. I love the game and have been playing a ton of it. It has completely eaten up all the time that I normally spent playing 40K. Nothing against 40K, I just find WoW, much more absorbing. This is my first post on Dakka since I got into WoW.
