OK guys, here is the first of the two step by steps I promised. First off is a space marine (although the techniques are basically copied over to the tyranids) Painting this mini including drying time took maybe 30 minutes. This process is for my color scheme for the sand jackals but feel free to experiment with other base colors, washes and what not.

Step 1: Prime your model white.

Step 2: Black out the soft armor and the shoulder pads then clean up any over painting with white

Step 3: Liberally apply devlan mud wash to all areas of armor and shoulder trim but be careful not to get any on the chest eagle/grenades/gun holsters/purity seals

Step 4: pick out wax seals and bolter with red (blood red) and any metal areas like the vents on the back pack and the bolter clip and barrel with boltgun metal

Step 5: Wash the red and boltgun parts with badab black wash and then wash the chest eagle and purity seals with gryphonne sepia. and in this case i washed the genestealer skull with sepia and badab black as well

Step 6: Pick out the eyes with red and add two white dots in the corner and done!

There ya go, if you have any questions let me know and as usual C&C is encouraged.

Stay tuned!

So chuffing simple. And so chuffing good. Now just to do my army in the same way....

Thanks mate. You're a lifesaver.

Hey all, just thought i would give you a glimpse into what ive been working on as of late. A Yu Jing Domaru with a Boarding shotgun for the game Infinity. If youve never heard of it I recommend you check out the website www.infinitythegame.com.

I was looking for something that I could slowly take my time on and actually paint the minis instead of washing for effect and Infinity's low model count (im only using 6 as of right now) pretty much fell in my lap and was exactly what i was looking for.

well as usual C&C encouraged ^_^

Again, very nice. Simple but effective colour scheme - well executed. Somehow it's screaming out for a little more detail though...
