I would LOVE to see white primed marines hit with:
1) multiple coats of ASURMEN blue
2) multiple coats of THRAKKA green
And you too are know the man!
(You know... IF!)
Just white primed then hit with wash?

Just to clarify Alpharius you want primed white with photo's showing 1 layer of wash, 2 layers and 3 layers of each colour with no metallics?

Yes, that's what I'd love to see.
It will let me know if it will 'work' for my Alpha Legion painting I've got planned, or if I have to go 'traditional' to achieve what I'm after...
Again, thanks!

Meh well i bought a box of ten who are in various stages of construction and priming, the washes themselves don't take too long but I need a good amount of sunlight to take the photo's. College tomorow and friday is until 5ish so by the time i get back it will be dark here so how does sat sound?

Sorry again Alpharius but the goddamn camera has no macro mode...
From the results so far I can tell you that the pigmentation due to the washes is fine but it only needs one or two layers.
Asurman blue gives a tone that is a sort of dirtier and darker crimson fists blue and the green, well it still looks like a white model washed with green ink with one layer so I would imagine that for Alpha legion you should try using a 50/50 mix of blue and green washes.
Also out of interest where in Massachusetts are you?

I'll have to hunt down the camera with macro, plus side is I'll likely have more models done as only the blue and green are washed.
I ask about your location as towards the end of this year I'll be applying for harvard so it would be nice to have some dakkanauts in the area

Nice!
Boston is only about an hour away, and hopefully by that time we'll have some more good game stores in the area too.
I will patiently await any pictures at all....

Interesting info here. I use the washes quite a bit but may experiment with them more (particularly to get a better gold color). I was thinking of using them as well to make better power weapons. Anyone have a tutorial or example of this?

Some dodgey photo's of one layer of blue wash on a primed marine., he larger areas with little detail do suffer quite badly when washed.
Thraka green one layer

Nice - I don't think it suffers much at all, especially with that being only one layer!
I think my plan shall now move forward!
1) Prime White
2) Badab Black Wash
3) Asurmen Blue Wash
4) Asurmen Blue Wash
5) Thrakka Green and Leviathan Purple where needed, as necessary!
Thanks for this - a lot!

What do you think?
This is precisely what I do.
Goblin Green over black primer, wash with Thraka Green. It's incredibly easy and works great. I'll post a pic in a bit.
