Brilliant! The skin tones came out great!
I like the torch in his hand, are you going to do any source-lighting effects?

Looking forward to see more!

Thanks for the feedback, glad it's gone over well

As for source lighting effects.. mmmm, not so sure really. I have done a lot of that with my Tau and their digital lights etc, but I'm churning out some play models and being clean and tidy about the paint work as I mentioned with 'Xan' and 'Mod' when I painted them. It is something I can address at a later stage, right now just capitalising on the inspiration I'm getting from Xanthos, Modhail, Migsula, Pfreck, Apologist and pretty much the whole =I=Munda foci

I did however readdress the weathering on the armor plates as per some pointers by Migsula. (grime, scratches etc..)

Anyhow, back to these fleet types..

I like his skin tone Tael, bright but not unbelievably so.

The mismatched colours of his suit work out nicely too, gives him a good haphazard, scavenger look.

Can't wait to see the fleet types....

Great job on the conversion and painting. He's got loads of character. My favourite part is the winch.

I am loving that bird/man/thing. It looks like the guys from "Dark Crystal". Evoking childhood love of all things Hensen is always a strong move, and the excellent emoting the model manages is icing!

Very cool mate, love the skin tone. It almost looks like a human skin tone at first though, could be the light, but I like that - kind of adds to the "sneaking an alien into the mix but having him pass as almost human.

Not sure about the torch, looks a bit like a stick bomb with butter on the end. I wonder if hollowing out (not that you will want to now its painted) the lamp area and covering it with perspex would have worked better?

Without an area to do OSL on I think torches are difficult to do right.

Cheers,

The torch, as Dante says, will be difficult. I can't see how you'll pull that off. Some OSL highlights around the rim, naturally, but otherwise... it's hard, without another surface. The inevitable illuminated dust in the way springs to mind, but that would be nigh on impossible.

Peace.

great colour choice it looks very good, alien but realistic. I like the lighter tone on the under side of his feet, hands and chin

I Really like the skin color kind of reminds me of Red from the hellboy movies... Awesome

Unrelated question- with all of these =][=Munda threads up, could someone explain to me what that is exactly? Inquisitor models inspired by Necromunda is my guess?

Is there a site or resource where I can find out how people taylor their models in this way, or is it just through knowing a lot about Necromunda and applying it to Inquisitor models?

=I=munda is basically trying to capture the artwork of the 40k universe through modelling. That is the modelling aspect of it at least. The gaming aspect is a skirmish game which is very much based on a narrative (storyline), meaning that rules and such will be bended for the story's sake.

Check the skirmish games section of the DakkaDakka forums for a discussion on used rules and ideas for =I=munda rules.

Hmmm, some solid feedback there, thanks!

I'm intending to rework the torch, and your suggestion Dante is a good one, also easily implemented. Not shy for pulling something apart, heck.. rebuilt Ardan, The Scout for my Scythes thread previously... in fact just took the hand off and bored out the 'torch' just then. Will GS something inside the cavity this afternoon.

As for bases Migsula, all three are a WiP until I decide on a theme, so they can take a backseat for now while I rip out the models themselves. I've always based enmasse at the end of a project, within reason. In OK's case I can easily shave him off the base to put him atop something unique later. Right now though? It's all about the minis!

It has been so interesting to read folks reacting to the model based on similar inspirations to my own.

best!
Tael.
