Don't get all emo. I said that just because you think something doesn't mean it is right. If I were to go "I think I can make assault moves in the shooting phase" I would be wrong, even though I think it (Disclaimer: No I don't think this you morons[Not directed at anyone in particular... sheesh]) As I conceded, there is an argument for both versions, and both versions have the same strength argument.

Until it is errata'd all you can do is discuss with your opponent pre game.

Not that this will come up often I reckon, the Rough Rider Special Character is useless anyway.

Gwar is correct, unfortunately.

Sigh.

Another rule that was not clearly written.

What a shame.

I certainly wont be playing it that way at my local unless someone insists on it.

Ho fething dumb, again. I will VOLUNTEER to proofread new dexes! Jesus, someone needs to!

Well considering we have a huge list of FAQ's, from near a month before the codex is even written should say something about GW's rules.

Sadly for many of us we have no choice because noone else in the area is willing/able to play other, better systems.

Creed is not useless though, he's pretty damn good. And if you get 21 S6 I6 attacks rough riders are rather nifty for their cost.

In one game turn an Imperial guardsman can move 6", kill a few guys with his flamer, assault 6", kill two more guys with his bayonet, flee 12", regroup when assaulted, react 6", kill one more guy with his bayonet and then flee another 12".
So in one game turn an Imperial guardsman can move 42" and kill more than 5 people. At the same time a Chimera at top speed on a road can move 18"...

What does Creed have to to with rough riders??

I mean, he lets them outflank, but they are rather fragile. I'd rather outflank a 50 man Conscript Squad that is magically 24" away from Creed and FRFSRF you to death

Maybe you should update yourself on Creed.
He has a special order (called "For the Honour of Cadia!") that gives the ordered unit the Fearless and Furious Charge special rules.

In one game turn an Imperial guardsman can move 6", kill a few guys with his flamer, assault 6", kill two more guys with his bayonet, flee 12", regroup when assaulted, react 6", kill one more guy with his bayonet and then flee another 12".

Yes because we all know fearless is so useful for such big tough units in close combat.

Oh wait...

Creed is good, but he's not that good. The only thing I'd take creed for is the ability to outflank my russes and 24" range FRFSRF madness.

You can't modify something you've discarded and are not using. The English language does not support it despite padixon's claims that it does. A 'replacement' does not modify what it's replacing, it's used instead of it.

Funny part is, Creed is not the Rough Rider Special Character Gwar! was talking about.

The Rough Rider Special Character is Mogul Kamir.

He as well gives the unit Fearless and Furious charge. Though its all game. Not just an Order given out every trun.

For the purpose of this discussion, it isn't really relevant who gives the Furious Charge to the RRs, is it?

I mean, we are discussing how to apply the Furious Charge, right?

Yes, that's why I said "though". If you read the whole thread you can also see in my OP (why you post in a thread where you have not read the first post is beyond me) that I acknowledge that both Mogul Kamir and Creed can give Rough Riders Furious Charge.

I'm not the one playing semantics. You're the one whose trying to claim that you're 'modifying' and 'replacing' are the same thing. They're not. Dictionary.com does not in the least support your claims that the words modify and replace are interchangeable or even synonyms. Perhaps you should check your sources before you claim that they support your claims because it most definitely does not.
