Same as "Mighty empires" for WHFB, but 40k.
Authors: priestly/johnson. Set of hex-tiles and some "rules".

So basically trying to recycle an old game and put it into the 40k realm?

The War Store has finally updated their GW Advance Release page with all the big releases for the summer. This includes Planetstrike items, Planetary Empires, the new Imperial Guard models, and much more.

No. Put away the hate and step away from the keyboard.

Mighty empires was / is a set of detailed hexagonal tiles that you can put together to make a modular campaign map. It also included little plug in flags / cities / mountains etc. to mark out ownership and special features of the board. It's really cool, and came with a set of suggested campaign rules. All they are doing is creating a new set of tiles for the 40k universe, so i expect it will have add-ons for things like forges, manufactorums, ancient sites etc. Should be cool.

Macropole field? Eh?

Listed as pre order in WD. Maybe a splash release?

The question should be why is planetary empires ( august) a follow up to planetstrike (july) and thus the release schedule of 40k codices or whfb armys is stretched to only 2 per year?
Remember: Lizardmen, imperial guard, space wolves, skaven. Could be all we get 2009.

@ Grunt_For_Christ:

Believe fitzeh, these hexfield games arent so bad.

Just thought I'd point out for English speakers, that unless I'm very much mistaken, 1hadhq is referring to the upcoming Hive City tile (available via Direct). As Macropole (or Makropole) is the German term for Hive City or Spire.

I am going to guess that the planetary empires: Hive City is a separate sprue like the one which came out with mighty empires. In this case it will be a hive city spire, probably with rules for it in WD.

Mighty empires is a game based on hexagonal tiles with cities and campaigns and rights of ownership. The 40k one will be based on hexagonal tiles with cities and campaigns and rights of ownership. I see a lot of similarity (if indeed that's the way the new one comes out). Might it be in space instead of being on a single planet or something like that? -steps away from the keyboard with hands up muttering 'don't shoot' quietly-
