We had a big discussion about that one in News & Rumors when it came out. I'm impressed by the idea and the technical skill, but unimpressed by the plastic surgery boobs and choice to depict the women as pron/Frazetta models, rather than as pregnant women.

I am just disgusted by this... thing.
And I find this feeling quite odd after so many years. It´s refreshing, makes me feel alive. This abominable obscenity (or obscene abomination) marvels me.

You may be right in your criticism, but for me the emotionall strike is strong enough to wash away any mistakes. I didn´t search for mistakes, I just feeled things. Perhaps you are searching for perfection (which pleases Slaanesh). Two different ways of looking at it.

Now that I look again, the Frazetta-looking girls may be some form of... soothing. Your eyes can rest on something easy to look at, helping you to assimilate the whole.

I'm all about abomination. Just ask anyone on the Specialist Games Board about my views in space marine ships having lances.

And the one with the arms and snake woman thing going on is a marilith from D&D

I´m not familiriarized with D&D, could you please elaborate?
Perhaps some form of Lamia (a serpent-vampire that lure you and kills you and feed on you) or Succubae (a lust demon, a demon able to have sex; incidentally they switch to Incubae to use what you gave them on women). Or is it something different?

Abomination is fantastic!

I always felt the best Daemonette unit would be a mix of figs, the plastic ones, old metals.

Plus some standard setting female figs with little touches like small horns, tails hidden behind the legs etc to represent the musk in effect on what the other races are seeing.

Although that's probably just me. Probably what I'll do if I ever get round to adding lesser daemons to my CSM.

Slaanesh governs the "Seven deadly sins" and is clearly a fictional analogue for the concept of Lucifer. There is nothing original about him that wasn't ripped from Satan besides his Boob Daemons. Excess is a vice, like desire and go hand in hand.

If desire was checked, there would be no excess. Since excess ran rampant in the Eldar community a billion years ago, obviously desire was left unchecked.

This. Slaanesh = Satan.

On topic the cenobites from hell raiser are certainly in line with the original concept of of daemonettes introduced way back in "Slave to Darkness", dark and disturbing. But lets not forget that god/goddess Slaanesh is not hidieous or disturbing looking. To quote "Liber Chaotica" - "Of all the gods only Slaanesh is divinely beautiful" To the point that the other gods yes even Khorne can't not resist Hir charms. Which is why he really hates hir so much.

Now the daemonettes are the children of Slaanesh so the should embody hir beauty and evil nature. Really the best way would be have three versions: hot succubus, mid-transformation (species-style) chicks, and monstrous (hellraiser-style hags).

I disagree.

Horus = Satan/Lucifer.

More accurately, both characters/fictional personas draw from multiple real-world sources, including the Bible.

Many people just see W40k as a... errr... game. Ok it IS a game, but there are thousands (really) of great stories about the universe this game depicts. And the designers used lots of sources from the real life / mythology / other Sci-fi&Fantasy universes. It is deeper than any other fictional universe I know. And then we have the painting / sculpting thing. Art + great stories + wargaming = W40k.

It is a serious thing, which main rule is to have fun.
EDIT: wow I just got promoted from "Treacherous Cultist" to "Spawn of Chaos". BWAHAHAHAHA!!! My ascension to divinity draws closer!!

What I dont get is the keeper of secrets other then the claws It doesnt scream Slaanesh to me. The forgeworld one looks way better at conveying overindulgence and twisted sexual allurance.Slaanesh is the god of desire and over indulgence since you become so desentised you need to go to more extremes.

I only skimmed through the first page, because I didn't feel I needed to go through the other pages as well, but am I the only one wondering how he wasn't in pain from them just slipping their hands under his skin and just peeling it away from his insides? Also, yes, they're VERY Slaaneshi-I would approve of somebody modeling their army off of that (looks like a good conversion idea with Wyches).

@themuffinman98: It may be disgusting, but imagine dropping that Diorama on your warhammer tabletop and saying "meet my keeper of secrets." Then pray that you aren't playing against someone who has ever been violated by a tentacle.

and an apology edit: After a long, difficult week, I have no shame and things like the wet nurse and the wire twins amuse me. You have been warned

Very.... HR Giger.

Though I suppose it WOULD make an interesting slaaneshi daemon, but not really a combat oriented one... would be GOOD for Dark Heresy/Rogue trader though!

Wow, these guys have a LOT of strange minis that might make good slaaneshi daemons.

That...is freaking hilarious. Ladies and gentlemen, due to the size that these models showed on the website next to the Space Hulk Librarian, I would like to announce my desire to own these hilariously awesome creatures as my future Heralds of Slaanesh. Horny boys everywhere beware! My models will eat your no-no zones. Good thing I became asexual after seeing that wetnurse model
